It is so difficult to play as Predator and one of the hardest things about him is that the controls feel clunky and are unresponsive. Many times I am trying to leap but I just stand there pointing my camera up into the sky begging for safety from bullets. Also I find it incredibly ill designed that when your plasma cannon is overloaded your weapon switches to something completely different than the previous weapon you had equipped. For example I equipped my Spear and my cannon and when my cannon overloaded it switched to my Disk and I was surprised because I thought I was using my Spear because it was equipped…
Continuing the awful controls complaint I despise how you actually equip weapons, it would be so much easier to cycle through all the weapons and gear by pressing a button and if you wanted to pick a specific weapon then just hold down that button, you could even keep the clunky previous weapon button too. I find it so difficult to switch to my spear and then to my cannon and then when I overload it switches to my Disk when it should just switch to my spear but then I have to manually hold down the button in the middle of not being able to jump and then pick my spear. You also can’t switch weapons while jumping which is a huge detriment when you’re trying to QUICKLY surprise someone beneath you but instead you have to either luckily switch weapons while in the tree which is rare or jump down and then attempt to switch to your spear IF it switches fast enough before you start swinging and instead use your gauntlet.
For the last clunky thing I am mentioning Sprinting, a lot of times I just stop sprinting after I jump normally, this usually happens during 2nd Wind when Sprinting is 100% mandatory to do in order to save your life but you suddenly stop sprinting because of something, yes my stamina was full. Sometimes I can’t tell if I am running or sprinting because of the screen itself, all the colors make it hard to tell if I am moving normal or fast as it is barely noticeable in the animation during 2nd Wind.
I want to enjoy playing as Predator but clunky and unresponsive controls along with long que times make it difficult to even want to play. Fireteam has no problems when it comes to controls but Predator is so difficult when it comes to the simplest of things. I hope these issues are addressed because quickly switching to the weapon you have equipped is important, the fact there is a damn perk that makes switching weapons faster looks stupid and is enraging, will that one perk solve all my problems? I sure hope not because this feeling of helplessness in dire times should be on the Fireteam’s end and not the highly trained alien from another planet with superior tech and skills.
