PS4 needs to be OPTIMIZED

The framerate is not good on ps4. Can it even be fixed? What do y’all think? Is your your framerate bad too?

It can be better optimized for PS4 and they could add a patch for PS4 pro to take advantage of the extra power. I think it’s a priority for them because it’s a crossplay game and I can’t speak for everyone but I don’t want to play against people who get 60fps when mine dips to 15.

Yeah frame rate is frequently an issue. Beta ran beautifully though 🤔

It started becoming problem after 1.16 the new menu screen is murder on ps4 mostly cause its running at a higher frames than the rest of game, so it makes my ps4 go into jet engine mode lol.

I just hope they don’t do a graphics down grade as a quick fix. Let’s get that PS4 pro patch and some 4K/60 lovin!

This game needs to be better optimized in general. I play on PC and get a stable 150-180FPS in Call of Duty: Warzone, which is a huge map with a hundred players, while on Predator Hunting Grounds I’m lucky to see a stable 70-80FPS and sometimes it can even drop down to 50FPS.

This game has a lot of potential and a great IP but somehow still manages to consistently be garbage.

I’m on PS4Pro, my fan has never been audibly detectable until I started playing this game. Even just sitting in the menus it’s purring loudly…in game, with AI and Predator and Fireteam all actively engaging each other it sounds like my console is ready to blast into the stratosphere…please God fix this shit.

Backwater, satellite compound, mid objective with alarms going, AI swarming, Predator blasting, FT guns blazing and the frame rate is fucking horrendous and I’m sweating because my fan sounds like it’s about to catch fire and my console is going to die… I’ve seen games run smoother on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16K…

Damn you get fps as low as 50?! How can you even play the game? Lol jk

I know 50FPS, compared to the PS4’s 30FPS, is excellent relatively speaking, but for those who regularly game on PC, this game runs like ass.

PS4 goes WAY under 30. More like 15.

Well yes, perhaps for this game specifically. I’m saying the PS4, in general, is supposed to run at 30FPS (60FPS on the PS4 Pro provided the software is optimized for it).

The newer images for Dutch '87 and the new map have a disclaimer that says captured on PS4 pro. I dont remember early screens having this. Could be a sign of a big optimization update… Or I’m reading too into it.

Framerate is horrible. I run the game on a PS4 Pro.

Illfonic, see that? Pull your thumbs put.

The earlier captures all say they were captured on PS4Pro. I don’t think they went as far as to take advantage of the pro’s superior performance though.

None of these early screens say captured on PS4 pro

I have to be optimistic!

That disclaimer is only used when there is a visual/performance difference from the base PS4.

They probably won’t do it though…

Which is a damn shame. It’s published by Sony, you would think they would have done it from the get go.

@OldKingHamlet please a ps4 optimization is long overdue. Frame rate is so bad sometimes that my game slightly freezes and causes me a lot of AI damage.

I think you’re asking a lot from a company that is notorious for making their product worse, in both gameplay and functionality, with every subsequent update to their games.

I’ll grant that the gameplay is mostly subjective but if you look at Friday the 13th and Predator: HG, they seem to break the game more and more as they update it which requires constant patches that also contribute to causing new bugs, such is the vicious cycle of Illfonic until they just give up and abandon a broken game.

They have a horrible track record:
Nexuiz - THQ goes bankrupt and they can’t get the rights so the game is abandoned before it even leaves the ground.
Friday the 13th - Broken on launch, throughout its lifespan and even more broken to this day.
Evolve - Though not directly involved, this game was a massive flop filled with poor gameplay decisions and tons of bugs. Illfonic has a habit of being attached to failure with very little success under their belt.
Star Citizen - Infinite struggles to get this game even released and Illfonic ended up laying off six employees who were still working on the game. It has been in Alpha for five years now with tens of millions of dollars apparently wasted and no indication that the game will ever be finished.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the company LJN, James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) has brought much attention to them, but they are notorious for being given popular IPs and making some of the worst games back in the 80’s and early 90’s. The really interesting thing about them is that despite consistent negative reviews, they were repeatedly asked to make games with popular licenses in the interest of cashing in on the popularity alone.

Illfonic is a modern LJN, they will continue making shitty games until their cash cow is seeing diminishing returns, at which point they will abandon it and move on to ruin the next beloved IP from thirty years ago.
