PS4 - PC Crossplay invites

I know this has been an issue for a while but I read somewhere you have to meet the following criteria to be able to do it:

Both players need to have an Epic Games Account and a PSN Account
Both players need to be friends on both networks
Both need to link their PSN Account to their respective Epic Games Account

Has anyone tried this? Does anyone wanna try?

You on pc or ps4?

PC

I’m in a priv and we need 2 ppl but if where gonna try how would this work lmao

I’m on ps4 lol

people have tried it it doesn’t work

currently on the PS4 side it doesn’t show Epic games friends so they can’t be invited nor can they invite

this however could get fixed by giving every player a number ID and just having them input it then making the invites an in game thing IE
my ID could be 8741512 anyone who puts in that at the invite player menu would set me a notification to join their party/game
don’t know why that’s so hard for them but i’m no dev

I guess if PSN players show on PC but PC players don’t show on PS4 then it may be a Sony thing.

found this too

Note that some users have had issues getting their friends from other platforms to show up, specifically on PS4. Currently, there is not a fix to the problem, though some players have reported that simply exiting the game and restarting it has forced their friends list to refresh.

Here’s the full instructions

How to Invite Friends in Crossplay

If you want to play against your friends on another platform, you first need to link your Epic Games Account to your PSN account.

To do so, go to EpicGames.com and sign into your EGS account. If you don’t have one, you will have to create and EGS account.

Once you’re signed into EGS via the website, here’s how to do it on your desktop PC or laptop :

  1. Hover over your screen name in the top right-hand corner on the Epic Games website
  2. Click “Account”
  3. Click “Connections” on the left-hand side
  • It’s the third option from the bottom
  1. Click the blue “Connect” button under PlayStation Network
  2. The page will refresh with a pop-up disclaimer
  3. Click the blue “Link Account” button
  4. Sign in to your PSN account

Once you’re signed into EGS via the website, here’s how to do it on your phone :

  1. Press the left-facing arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the screen
  2. Click “Connections,” which is the third option from the bottom
  3. Scroll down and click the blue “Connect” button under “PlayStation Network”
  • PlayStation Network is the second option from the bottom
  1. The page will refresh with a pop-up disclaimer
  2. Click the blue “Link Account” button
  3. Sign in to your PSN account

Yeah, we’ve seen these. If you can get it to work, get back to us, until then, its just the standard instructions that isn’t working here.

I can see these instructions fail to mention you also have to be friends on the EGS.

Currently, there is no way to add/request friends on Epic Games unless you install the software on a PC or Mac

Any updates with this situation?
Is it fixed yet?

It’s on their “priority list”.

That and every other longstanding issue since release. Don’t worry. They’re working really hard on another vague response to placate their kool aid club.

Doesn’t any one read gaming news?
There was a whole thing 2 weeks ago between Epic Games and Sony.
Im assuming this will solidify their relationship and expedite their server API processes between the two.
But this could take like another quarter year.
