Given the sheer amount of content in the franchise I don’t doubt it exists. Or at the very least they made some reference even if it doesn’t take place in Polynesia.

why Polynesia? Its not considered the wilderness or deep jungle. Its just in the tropics. thats it. its a small island technically and doesn’t harbor any deadly animals just unique and rare even exctint breeds. No place yautja would go for sport imho. The write up of the yautja specify hot, and conflict areas of the populous to go hunting. and there should at least be sport there.
Polynesia only have …turtles and rare species of tiny lizards or iguana.

humans would be the prey Aotearoa New Zealand had plenty of deep jungle, still does and the hunted could of been the Maori who inhabited the islands

They aren’t barbarians. Yautja going to knock a bunch of peaceful travellers making arts and crafts, fire dances and eating crabs…but they don’t kill people. Why are you obsessed with the polynesian?

lol i never said Maori were barbarians but they were good at combat and hunting even after colonization some tribal disputes were sorted with combat between warriors, Maori were peaceful yes but not harmless. That wiki page leaves alot out man i mean if the maori were truly un accustomed to combat the patu and taihaha wouldn’t exist and the god tumatauenga would have no place in the maori pantheon the Haka and whetero also wouldnt exist

yeah pred could even be seen as a patupaiarehe in the lore sort of like mythical people who live in the mist of the forests and mountains who take and kill men who wonder close to their villages
