It’s a pain in the ass we have to turn off thermal vision if one thermal is dropped and a smoke we can’t see shit

Yeah I’ve never had a problem seeing through the smoke as pred, even when there’s more than 3 smokes next to each other

The combo of them together can SOMETIMES be useful but I wouldn’t say it cripples Pred …smoke alone is crippling to FT if anything lol As Pred I love seeing em used

This happens quick, but here is an example of how it looks from the Predator side (smoke + thermal). The FT attempts to run back into the smoke+thermal cloud. You can see that scanning him Predator gets the little red dot above the FT head and it is still fairly easy to just track off of that.

dot appears around ~0:10

There are times when it is useful, but it is not as good as a defense that you might first think.

TLDR/TLDW: Smoke + Thermal? Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Thermal completely prevents the thermal vision from working your blind. Smoke is a double edged sword that blinds both the predator When not in thermal and ft. Flash bangs are effective and I’ve been lured by sound makers too.

So I recommend if you use thermal, bring smoke to use with it. To blind both visions of the predator.

I mean it really depends I usually use them on the run to throw the pred off like throwing smokes wile muded if there using the bow and sometimes thermals too

Whoever is using smoke grenades at the chopper area is an ignorant moron and sabotages for the team, if someoe does it when i play as Fireteam i just move out of the smoke and watch the team die in laughter, then run in and click the rope when it’s time.
When i play as Predator i become more than happy when the Fireteam uses smoke grenades, makes it so much easier to kill them. If they combine smoke with thermal jammer then i simply drop motion detectors.

So on PS4 there isn’t low settings issue like on PC so there’s better viability.

Thermal is a good quick cover for escapes or masking building entrances. But the Pred has to rely on thermal heavily to be fooled. Alot folks on the forum probably dont rely on it heavily. Smokes are the same, quick decoys or cover for running or building entrances but again, it works against you after a bit.

Also some people don’t know, if you throw a thermal decoy then mud up, you see a blue body through the thermal decoy.

So the best way to use it during exfil for example would be throwing thermal away from the team, everyone mud up and hide in the smoke grenades. So the pred sees nothing?

hm… but then again the AI has perfect x ray vision and will shoot at your direction so the pred knows it too. We need better AI

Smoke granades are a pain, but only if FT is muded. Than I can’t see you in any of the spectrum.
