It will sadly feel eons less polished than DBD in every way. DBD has vision and a general design philosophy, this game doesn’t & it’s more like someone’s college project. People only care about the fact it has pred in the title kind of like the only reason a couple hundred people are still playing A:FTE on PC.
There aren’t any real classes, just different stat variations that make a second of a difference in each category. scout can take rocket launcher. The “heavy” predator class can take a bow and arrow.
All predators have the exact same hit and run playstyle with nothing really differentiating them which means every match plays out the same exact way with pred trying to pepper people with plasma fire or arrows from a mile away while a timer counts down but thats pretty much the entire game with no depth to it aside from how accurate you are at peppering people from a mile away.
Think Evolve if the only class was Goliath and how boring that would get with 1 monster with all the same skills and playstyle. That and it’s buggy as hell and the netcodes garbage, you’ll get shot through a wall at some point and die across the map because 1 persons desynced and shooting at your ghost & the game’s hosted on some borderline experimental amazon cloud server as a hitscan FPS.
Desync’s the cause of about 50% of the bugs, the rest is pure incompetence as Illfonic yet again makes it clear why all their work was scrapped when they were working on Star Citizen.
