So can snakes be domesticated like dogs and cats? Was never clear on that

Freaks me out. I can just imagine stumbling around I’m the dark with one of those fellers around, stepping on one of them, feeling the pain

Awesome, I love snakes! I used to be super obsessed with them as a kid.

What types of snakes are they? I’m not sure what type of snakes the first two are but I think the third one is a carpet python. Am I correct?

Simple answer is no. Cats and dogs have brains, so they can memorize things, learn and get to like/love you - snakes on the other hand are very primitive. Their intellectual level is comparable to fish. So you can tame them and get them to not freak out in presence of ppl, even get them to be comfortable with handling - but you will never get them to like you (or hate) and consider you as their friend. You always have to be careful while handling snakes, even those calm and non venomous – they can trigger very easily.

We aint bbq’eing shit!!! Those are my fluffy bunnys!

Funny enough - exactly what happened to my wife when I was at work once. Big boy got out and was chilling in the corridor. She stepped on it and freaked out XDDDD Interestingly – snake was ok with that, did not even acknowledged the situation. Just kept on relaxing

Cool!

I’ve always wanted to have a Ball Python or a Boa but my parents never let me. They’re too afraid of snakes lol.

Snake are cool, very low maintenance and beautiful pets – but do your research first! You would be surprised to see how many different things can go wrong, in regards to health (theirs and yours) or maintenance, that can make anyone regret the decision to get a pet snake. I’ve kept snakes since I was 10 years old, had 14 different species (one venomous) to date and I still keep learning about what can go wrong… seriously XDDDDD

That’s a cool snake

That’s true.

Having a pet seems like it would be a lot of work, I don’t think I’d be able to handle that kind of responsibility.

What kind of venomous snake did you have?

European Adders - not life threating but SUPER painfull… trust me, I know XDDDDDD
