RADEON SETTINGS

Anyone also use Radeon Software and any of their anti-lag features?
I have anti-lag and image sharpening but stil had these atrocious lags during important moments of game play.
Im turning it off to see what happens.

BTW im seeing more lag in my FT gameplay than Predator gameplay.

Do you have an fps limit set?

I have set it at unlimited. Could that be an issue?

if you have a free sync monitor, make sure free sync is off

When I had a Radeon card and turned on anti-lag, I had to lock my fps since my monitor was only 60hz. Otherwise I had crazy amounts of screen tearing and lagging. Enabling vsync might also work if you have a higher end card in my experience.

Im not seeing any significant performance incrase in the lag areas. Still getting some one off moments with FPS lag.
Dont know why.

I’ve never experienced tearing in newer games

V-sync, freesync, g-sync, all introduce input lag, but I find them unnecessary on modern games. I’ve never experienced tearing in games from like 4 years ago onward

Don’t play in windowed mode Mass.
I know you do, it drops fps even more.
Play in full screen.
Second, cap your fps at 90 in the game options.

90 FPS cap really hit the mark. I found those lag points (especially on night maps) to almost cease because of this. Good call!

I dont know why Fullscreen would help though. I’m back to my usual pixillated hair mode. which im fine with. The MED to low AA helped.

Radeon? Dude, get an Nvidia GPU you peasant. 💩🤢🤮

Not talking mess or anything, but AMD GPUs suck.

tbh it makes no difference for me

TBH, the videocards Ive bought always have been those that been refab. I can’t recall what they call it but it is where there is a third party such as AMD that reconfigures the video GPU card with fans and heat sinks.

This is usually my way to go as the latter usually requires additional water cooling as you’ve seen those highend cards that are 2000$+ that have 1 fan believe it or not. and believe it or not thats all the cooling it requires.

I did a study on it, now i forget all the shit.lol

PHG doesn’t run on true full screen. I know this sounds weird, but it’s like a borderless full screen. I know it has the borderless and full screen options, but even when you choose full screen is still borderless. Unless they patched it, but I doubt it.

you should know brainiac!

I needed to understand why there were two types of video cards on the market.

  1. the videocards that only had one fan and build on heatsink going for 2k-3k cad dollars.
  2. and the difference bettween this and the same RX model but with the added on and much larger heat sinks and triple fan versions supplied by other videocard manufactures such as Sapphire Radeon at a reduced price. I simply didnt know why and still dont know why they make them cheaper. Maybe its because they allow for over clocking and customizations of their body?
Both had the same chip, but one added their own bodies.

Custom cards with water loops are for the sole purpose of keeping temps low and performance high, but even on a factory model you can overclock and keep temps somewhat low.

To the average consumer, we basically think running a game will increase its CPU usage which will simply automatically increase the fan speed. Hense, keep it cool.
Both allow for some kind of overclocking. The difference is? I dont know. Maybe one ventures beyond what is recommended the other will not due to software/hardware locks.

There was a very good video out threre explaining the difference between the two videocards. maybe Ill find the time to find it and post it for you.

GPUs are near bullet proof when it comes to performance as long as you have proper air flow in your case your GPU will not suffer one bit. Thats why Laptops GPUs are under volted and under clocked because there is literally little airflow and heat is the main cause of poor performance for GPUs and CPUs. So people should focus more on the whole system airflow in order to keep peak performance from all components.

It depends on what ppl have running in the background etc.
Like how can Hanzo have 20 fps on 720p with low graphics with 2080 super,
while me in the same match have 61 fps on 720p with medium settings with GTX 1050 Ti?

We were literally next to each other in the match.
The fact is that majority of people run their system their way and that results in performance difference.
The other thing is, non-optimized game which is PHG, which can make you lose 200 FPS just by going 15 meters forward on Excavation. 😂

Its the CPU. I only upgraded my CPU/Mobo. i7 3770K @ 4.5Ghz to i7 10700K @ 5GHz and I gained around 30fps on average.

It still tanks down, because the fps on this game are highly unstable

Im at the point where I’m capping everything at 60 and whatever
