Can anyone tell me what the jungle hunter was doing in the first predator movie when he made his wrist blades glow red to this day i still don’t know what he was doing
Random predator question
bad green screen compensation?
Using the heat of the laser to make the blades red hot. You ever heard of the expression, “like a hot knife through butter”? Exactly that. So when he sticks them into Dutch they go right through with ease.
Director actually referd to that scene in extra materials on extended BlueRay - whe was, and I kid you not, laser-sharpening them with this targeting laser, that he temporarly removed from his bio-helmet
I imagine disinfecting it
Was heating them up, and somehow sharpening, with his Targeting Laser from his Bio-Mask. Basically just prepping them for battle. It’s one of the interesting aspects of the Laser & Blades they never really touched again, like how later on it’s shown he can manipulate the shape of them to pin Dutch down without skewering him.
Is not that far fetched, given that one of the most effective rust removal techniques is to use a high powered laser. So, laser sharpening, given the fantastical idea of predator technology, is not that far fetched
If you look at the original script, the hunter uses a similar method with bright and colorful stones to heat up the blade on the first pass, and then sharpen it on the return stroke
Very cool concept, but unfortunately not touched upon ever again
Seeing Predators maintain, repair or build their stuff is actually super cool and I wish we got more of it. Like when Wolf fashions his broken Plasma Caster into a Pistol, that shit is cool as all hell and I wish we got more of it.
Predators who main the wristblades in this game need that feature
WTF?
A. The human perspective shot would of been amazing…
If this was the first movie and was trying to show the audience the wonder of the transformers. As it is it makes it harder to actually see the action.
B. The scene in general doesn’t show enough to axtgrasp what’s happening so things kind of just happen when they should of been understood.
Choreography isn’t half bad either on at least some of the shit.
That’s what I’ve always assumed.
That scene is da best thing
I had always taken it as him cleaning them, by burning the blood n guts off of them. Pleased to see I was kinda right.
