Reason Why I No Longer Enjoy This Game

Don’t get me wrong, I just WANT to love this game, but I can’t. My main issue is the fact that you can select if you want to play as the Predator or fireteam. Why can’t it just be random like F13th (or preference choice)? This is the reason why you have to wait 6 minutes to get into a match as predator. Matches should be one after the other, no being sent back to main menu, and you wait your turn to be Predator. Why is this so hard?

Tonight I decided to give the game another shot. Fire it up, wait over 9 minutes for a match as predator, cancel it, search again. This time I wait about 6.5 minutes. Well I decided to check the map to see where I spawned during the opening cinematic of the game and was unable to close the scoreboard once the match actually began. This meant I could not see ANYTHING. The only thing I could do was ragequit at that point.

A game is NOT fun or rewarding when you have to wait 15 minutes to get into a match that’s unplayable.

Tl;dr To make this game rewarding and more enjoyable, matches need to be back-to-back with each person getting a turn as predator. Also game-breaking bugs need to be fixed

If they made it so you couldn’t choose what you would prefer to play as you’d never get to play the predator if you wanted to. You would have a 1 in 5 chance per game to play it so your chances aren’t that good. The reason almost all of us got this game was to play the predator so limiting how much you actually get to play it would make things worse. If they added a random option besides the two specific choices then I would be fine with that. It’d be a fast way to get into a game since you would be filling whatever spot needed to be filled.

As many people have said it would quickly turn into the same issue F13 had where pre-made groups would group up against everyone else. Imagine 2 of your FT members and the predator are actually on a discord together. They’re just feeding the pred info allowing him to kill you only for all 3 to begin talking trash while you’re dead unable to even respond.

That’s exactly the case when you choose “no preference”.

Are you playing on pc or ps4? If playing ps4 I will add you and other players to matches so we can get some decent games going?

simply 4 vs 1 will not work when everyone wants to play as a predator…
we would have to have super AI… ( We all know that AI is shit in this game )

I’ve had the 1 in 5 chances since launch from level 0 to 100 and never played as the Predator. Very nice

Sorry I’m not a fan of having NO choice. As of now we wait 4 1/2 - 6 1/2 minutes on average to play as the Predator. If the choice was made for us we may be forced into playing the fire team 4 games in a row. Now we waited 24 minutes plus loading if we played fast 6 minute games and up to 1 hour plus loading. I’ll wait the 4-6 minutes

Right, that’s a real issue. I never understood people that did it though. It doesn’t make the game any more fun

So you would rather potentially play 4 x 15 minute games than wait 10 minutes?

Maybe the matchmaking times are intentional to allow us to come and bond on the forum as we wait.

If they make the predator randomly chosen I, along with many others, are just going to quit and try again anytime we get a game as the team we don’t want to play as. And if they add a matchmaking cooldown to counteract that with the game as broken as it is I’m just going to stop playing/ supporting illfonic. They’re racking up a nasty track record with shit like this.

Agree that would add insult to injury. The game is just barely worth the wait time as it is for me. I mean i love predator but i cant rationalize much more waiting than it is now.

Everyone keeps trying to use this to say I’m wrong. Yes I’d rather wait multiple games. If nobody has the option to chose, it’s fair. And hell, you wouldn’t even have to always play all 4 matches. People would leave and join and maybe you’d get your chance sooner.

You may be right man. I dont buy “everybody waits longer its fair” or people constantly leaving and entering lobbies as better alternatives but who knows really. Id have to see it in action really.

my wish is that they just make fireteam more engaging. if they did that, I certainly would queue in it more or wouldn’t mind being put it the systems you propose.

i usually never want to be the pred, so i wouldn’t want that change.

as for finding people, i think they should take away isolation vision and replace it with something that utilizes the thermal vision’s sound bar. maybe give you heightened sense of hearing for a few seconds so you can hear really far away, but have to be stationary or something. that way, the mud won’t have any effect, and the pred will always have at least a general idea of what direction the ft is in.

I get what you’re saying but a lot of people are saying that they should get rid of choosing which one you want to play as. If there’s a third option for no preference I would be completely fine with that, as long as it’s not the only option. I’m willing to wait longer so I can play what I want.
