Rebalancing idea

First of all, get rid of specializations. While the game has been going downhill for a while, we all agree when specializations were added (on both sided) the game just became a DPS master race where a match that’s supposed to last 15 minutes lasts under 3.

Remove the following perks

Impenetrable
Iron Side
Down Range
Fearless
Height Advantage
Thick Skin
Gearhead
Spotter
OWLF Training
Yautja’s Bane

Get rid of the following passives:

Bullet damage resistance
Bullet damage Boost
Sprint Damage Resist
Mud Damage Resist
Post Sprint Damage Boost
Damage reduction for teammates
Extra Melee damage
Extra Ranged weapon Damage

Make every class a modular class where your Health, Stamina, Speed and Gear is determined by your own combination of loadout points. To differentiate classes, you can adjust the Minimums and Maximums of each class.

Lastly, get rid of perk points and let any class bring any 3 perks

You still need to lower ft damage.

cool idea but it require effort and time so illfonic wont ever do that
get ready to get an other zerk like pred next update

Can I suggest Class specific weaponary/gear. For example, only Scouts and Recon can use Snipers (Obviosuly Isabella too). Just an old idea that I think has merit.

without the extra damage buffs and damage reduction perks it should be fine. You can’t make it that pred can jump in and melee everyone down without getting second wind

if classes are dynamic, that’s really not needed.

That sounds fun, and it would feel good to use melee again and not die.

I’m the only one who caught that they increased ft base dps when specializations were added huh?

So if pred can still get sw for using melee, then it’s still pointless.
Honestly pred should be able to land a full combo with out getting second winded.

Ft has parry you know.

Honestly pred should have knockdowns, stuns, grabs, throws.
But people are too scared of that.

I’d love for the slam to have a knockdown effect if they’re next you when you slam and a slight stun if you’re further away.

Exactly stuff like this.

I agree

Passive damage boosts/reductions are a cancer

Shotguns should cause a stagger effect.

Love It 😍

No is not. If you can jump in the middle of 4 FT members and not get SW while using melee, then playing FT is pointless. You should be fine using melee against 1 FT member even if is wristblades. That right now, is barely possible unless you are facing a potato and you are fairly good as Pred.

I think a knockdown effect would be too much to ask for illfonic to code and add to the game, but a stun effect, like when you get parried, should be alright

Yeah, and perhaps it wouldn’t be such as issue if pred had more weapon/gadget options. Then melee can be used situationally. Even netgun + melee can be pretty useful when it’s 2 v 1. But 4 v 1 is just asking for it. With more gadgets, weapons, gameplay mechanics, perhaps melee could be situational in 3 v 1.

I think no pred should be able to take on 3 or even 2 FT players, all at the same skill level, with melee only. That doesn’t seem fair. The Predator is a hunter, not a hack and slash assassin.

Just make the slam knock the player ragdoll out the map because thats all thats going to happen anyways with illfonic trying to meet a deadline for a new mechanic.

We can call it Void Slam.

Rather this than allow the existence of Parry.

But no how dare you give weapons purposes beyond being stat sticks.

That’s what happens when play with bow are pistol up close. Lol

Yup, that’s how he gets killed in the movies, when he goes into melee mode.

It wouldn’t be melee only. Netgun or some other disabling weapon ( whip perhaps ) should make melee possible. Plus, with the amount of melee weapons that pred has, it would only make sense that melee should be stronger.

Slam should definitely get a rework. The penalty of plasma overload is string enough that there should hardly be a delay and perhaps some type of shockwave or whatnot.
