Reinforcements and balancing around reinforcements

lol one hit weapon? we lucky we still have dmg on the dang spear at this point… being able to destroy Pred weaponry is such a dang joke lol… it’s shameful what the devs did to the “smart” disk lol

I’ve just started toying around with Fireteams and messing around with Bear Traps, random Net Gun Shots, Plasma Caster Pot Shots, and looking forward to Reinforcements.

I discovered, and by complete accident @Finessology sneaking to the Respawn Point while Cloaked and remaining still as the Timer counts down. The element of Surprise comes in the form of a Slam or Bear Traps.

I’ve found that Matches are far more interesting if you let things play out instead of just slaughtering Fireteams within the first 5 Minutes of the Match. Yes, it’s quite exhilarating to rush in and own. But it’s a lot more fun to fully explore all of Hunting Grounds’ subtle Nuances/Mind Game oriented Play.

Im in the same boat w/ looking forward to the reinforce. Only because it’s the only point in the game where fireteams potentially split which forces the pred to decide between slowing down the guys remaining at the objective or stop what hes doing to harass the guys running for the reinforce. Lets me enjoy my hunting trip ykno

I’d be fine with fireteam having some more 1v1 potential via traps and such as long as they eventually get objectives that require splitting. It’s more of a rush when you’re on your own rather than just covering teammates match to match. Or give fireteam some optional objectives to go for that affect the predator instead of completing fetch quests in a vaccum. Like “fuck this downed guy, someones in my ship right now” kind of objectives that require an immediate response and get some pressure off the other FT members.

ya reinforce is crappy as it is now. It’s the only thing that makes the FT seem Op really. Not in a good way like the gatling gun when used correctly. I don’t see why the timer is so fast to spawn every dead member. Why not one at a time, ever 3 seconds after the initial respawn? That gives at least a few more seconds to stop the flow of revives, but it’s still pretty good for FT and less abrupt and unnatural seeming

Don’t see why. Reinforce is usually a midgame thing after the first compound clear.

they really should add a helicopter animation and such, would also help prevent trap spamming on top of the spawn point.

At this stage idk how longplay would affect q times and such with how fragile the q population is rn still. Would love longplay tho ngl

They’re planning on adding more game modes so eventually queues will be split regardless. Its going to depend on how good these gamemodes actually are.

Wish illfonic had a TINY bit more talent with this game engine

honestly… considering PC’s run this game at 95% fan speed…I’m suprised my fan hasn’t died yet lol

The speed and ease of some OBJs could force the run back and forth and if they leave a guy or two that’s a vulnerability.

I would say force a new class loadout but right now you can copy everything six times

Only way I could see that happening would be time sensitive objectives, but running with knife out makes every class sonic the hedgehog.

Also think its odd pred has an AI kill counter with 0 reason to kill AI ever. Why not give both optional objectives that affect the other? Stolen technology and whatnot. Variety.

Long Play @Finessology!? Fuck yeah!! I think the current best choice would to first be introducing Options in Private Matches, like a Match Timer and AI Volume (more, less, Ranks, etc.) among a few other things. That way, Illfonic could get a feel of what People prefer and make a proper judgment call for something Official.

But a 1 on 1 Mode similar to the Final Battle in the first Predator?? I’d be all over that.

I like to net and force the FT at the radio to think fast.

Stay near the radio, reinforce the team and let them watch me be claimed, or run away and die too far away for the reinforcement to pop and end the game.

It is how I eat peeps and gummy bears too. Prop them up and let them watch you eat the other ones first.

Onboard with this because long claim is currently pointless

FT should respawn as OWLF agents sent to clean up FT mess. It doesn’t make sense for them to actually respawn lol.
