Reinforcements are overdue a rework.

I think what he is saying is more that if a fireteam member gets away and reinforces they get a new start because second wind doesn’t completely heal you and any arrows heals or beartraps the pred used don’t come back like the ft items

Yep, you know a mechanic is broken when what is supposed to give you a second chance is being exploited to give people an advantage.

Maybe reinforcements should only be available the first half of the game?

Excellent point, man!
FT must reinforce (revive) with the same ammo and gear.

And Predator REALLY NEEDS the capacity to take his unused traps.

One solution maybe is that every alive member slhould be at the radio in order to get the reinforcement. Pr give more time for predator.

I’d like to see some changes to the FT reinforcement mechanic, but I don’t feel like it’s overpowered or unfair in it’s current implementation.

But I certainly agree some more creativity could go into it, especially the ‘instantly appear/teleport’ aspect of it’s completion.

There are many options available to the Predator to prevent, avoid or prepare this from occurring.

There are many Fire Teams that badly need those reinforcements against the Predator, and still lose with ease.
There are many Predators who will deliberately allow the Fire Team to get reinforcements to prolong the game.
There are games where the Predator wipes the entire Fire Team in less than a minute of engagement. (See Shifo’s videos).

If you were to remove the reinforce mechanic, you’ll literally have FT players quitting the instant they are downed.
If you nerf the reinforce mechanic too much, you’ll have to do the same to quick claim.

Imagine being that player that gets killed in the very first engagement (sometimes one-shot). The reason they stick around is because they know someone can give them a 2nd chance.

Some ideas:

  • Reinforcements arrive by Chopper in the same way you spawn in at the start. (Dropping down from a rope)
  • The Chopper arrives in a similar fashion to exfil. (Takes longer to arrive. Chopper flies across the map to get there)
  • The Chopper calls attention to AI guerillas. (similar to exfil - perhaps less though).
  • The Fire Team doesn’t need to “stay nearby” while the Chopper arrives. (This gives them the option to stick around and make the arrival easier, or saving themselves at the expense of a ‘hot arrival’ for the reinforcements.
  • Players can be attacked by the Predator and AI while dropping down on the rope.
  • Reinforcements arrive with only half starting ammo & equipment (rounded down)
  • The Chopper drops an ammo crate with the players. (Whether the players get a chance to use it or not…??)

As for the Predator, I would also like to see some option to allow them to replenish some uses of their equipment. (but not medkits) (that can also be destroyed by the FT if found).

There is a moment when the timer is complete, but the fireteam hasn’t spawned in yet. So, basically, you were just a second or so too late.

What I would like to see is removing reinforcements, but also removing quick claims and fixing the time in downed state regardless of taking additional hits. Therefore, fireteam members could only die from bleeding out, getting downed three times, stealth killed, or long claimed. One can only dream.

I would like this also. I’m really not a fan of the quick claim mechanic.

If they shoot you as you come down you’d be dead by ground level how is that reinforced at all

Was just an idea.
You drop pretty quick. A Predator might get one shot or two shots on a moving target.
Assuming they aren’t trying to deal with other FT members on the ground, or the AI as well.

It’s one of the dangers of hot-dropping into an active combat zone.

But it’s probably the easiest thing to just turn on/off as well. :)
Many people are clearly leaning towards reinforcements being ‘too strong’, so this is one way of allowing players to be reinforced, but providing a few downsides, so it’s not just a ‘free life’.

You could also have them take reduced damage while dropping in.

If they engage the radio instead of going for the gear then yes I agree with half gear and bullets, but if they get a drop that refills traps and meds then fireteam should have the same, also saw someone say about a halfway time limit for reinforcements and if they added the drop of gear for predators then half of the way through or so would be still that same rush of the fight and maybe that would revive the fear part or at least the rush of the battle

If for whatever reason this awful mechanic has to stay in the game to stop the salty kids from rage quitting, then I suggest that there be multiple reinforcement stations scattered around the map, each one only bringing one person back at a time. So if you want to bring back your whole team, you’ll have to go throughout the map taking a risk, for a high reward.

So just cause you’re downed all of a sudden you become immune to damage?
The fuck kind of logic is that?

It’s annoying at times, but not enough to remove it.
Having quick claims forces the ft to have to make sure
If someone goes down, you HAVE to be there to cover them.

Game balance logic.

That’s not balance.
It would be completely unfair.

No one should ever become immune to damage.

That’s the case make it so pred cant be killed in second wind. Sounds stupid right?

Second Wind needs reworking. Like, “Hey I’m fucking dying here and need health!! Look!! A pig!! But nah, can’t kill it because I would prefer my Yautja steroids first,”. You should at least be able to kill a pig while in second wind so that afterwards when you’ve healed you can go back and top up on some bacon. How hard would it be to enable blades to attack only boar? Only the Devs know😉

I would agree with you if the FT could actually do something while down, like shoot a weapon, throw grenades, or use a field syrette to revive themselves… or maybe parry a quick claim attempt. (That would be nice)

I think the whole idea behind second wind is like a predator life support. I remember reading that the explosion cauterizes the wounds and the bright color is a temporary shield. The predator is too week even to kill a boar, and maybe activating the blades would disable the shield that is keeping the predator alive.
