Reinforcements are overdue a rework.

Nope

Dude I’m sorry but that’s an over simplification

He clearly didn’t read anything written, suggested or even watched the video that was referenced🙄

I read it just fine

I’ve played plenty of matches that had the predator completely take the piss out of any efforts to reinforce

Not you, the other dude… Weevo was replying to someone else, and I was replying to Weevo. Nothing about you.

The question is are you cysz?!?
(Love the vids man😂👍)

Supply drops for preds! When FT respawn a supply drop comes from his ship returning the favor and evening the odds. I feel like respawns should add time to the clock too. You know having to refuel and what not…

As good as it sounds that the predator gets more gear when the FT reinforce, I don’t feel like that should be the case. Nor should the fireteam be able to reinforce.

I feel like reinforcements suck the fun out of the game by completely eliminating what makes playing the survivor in asymmetrical games fun. Fear.

One life means it’s teamwork or nothing. And the predator would actually feel like a threat you’d fear.

And for the complaint that “oh you’d hardly win with randoms!” Yeah that’s the point. How often would you win with a group of randoms on F13 or DBD? Because chances are you hardly would. And that’s what makes winning so much more satisfying. Because it will feel earned. Because you know you worked together as a team to take on a massive threat. This is how it should be…4 people required to take on 1 powerful threat.

But it isn’t…this game misses the mark of what makes playing as a survivor fun. All because of a mechanic that rewards you for screwing up and punishes the predator for doing what they’re supposed to. It’s just not fun for either side.

Reinforcements is one of the main reasons I stopped playing this game. I don’t get the same adrenaline rush and panic when I see a predator compared to when I see a Jason. Because I know I and my team get a second chance, with no consequences.

So as good as your idea about predator getting a resupply sounds…I don’t think it will help in the long run.

Sincerely, a person not having fun as fireteam.

Reinforcement has sadly become part of the strategy when against tough Predators that have thinned down the team to 2. One muds up and creeps to the radio, the other creates a distraction but allows the Predator to slowly damage them until they’re downed by which time the other FT is ready at the radio to activate it so the moment he either bleeds out or claims he’s instantly reinforced. A cheap, cheesy tactic but it’s a common one now.

As you said, it’s ruined the point.

Getting 4 new targets and not enough time to kill them all is lame

I think what he is saying is more that if a fireteam member gets away and reinforces they get a new start because second wind doesn’t completely heal you and any arrows heals or beartraps the pred used don’t come back like the ft items

Yep, you know a mechanic is broken when what is supposed to give you a second chance is being exploited to give people an advantage.

Maybe reinforcements should only be available the first half of the game?

Excellent point, man!
FT must reinforce (revive) with the same ammo and gear.

And Predator REALLY NEEDS the capacity to take his unused traps.

One solution maybe is that every alive member slhould be at the radio in order to get the reinforcement. Pr give more time for predator.

I’d like to see some changes to the FT reinforcement mechanic, but I don’t feel like it’s overpowered or unfair in it’s current implementation.

But I certainly agree some more creativity could go into it, especially the ‘instantly appear/teleport’ aspect of it’s completion.

There are many options available to the Predator to prevent, avoid or prepare this from occurring.

There are many Fire Teams that badly need those reinforcements against the Predator, and still lose with ease.
There are many Predators who will deliberately allow the Fire Team to get reinforcements to prolong the game.
There are games where the Predator wipes the entire Fire Team in less than a minute of engagement. (See Shifo’s videos).

If you were to remove the reinforce mechanic, you’ll literally have FT players quitting the instant they are downed.
If you nerf the reinforce mechanic too much, you’ll have to do the same to quick claim.

Imagine being that player that gets killed in the very first engagement (sometimes one-shot). The reason they stick around is because they know someone can give them a 2nd chance.

Some ideas:

  • Reinforcements arrive by Chopper in the same way you spawn in at the start. (Dropping down from a rope)
  • The Chopper arrives in a similar fashion to exfil. (Takes longer to arrive. Chopper flies across the map to get there)
  • The Chopper calls attention to AI guerillas. (similar to exfil - perhaps less though).
  • The Fire Team doesn’t need to “stay nearby” while the Chopper arrives. (This gives them the option to stick around and make the arrival easier, or saving themselves at the expense of a ‘hot arrival’ for the reinforcements.
  • Players can be attacked by the Predator and AI while dropping down on the rope.
  • Reinforcements arrive with only half starting ammo & equipment (rounded down)
  • The Chopper drops an ammo crate with the players. (Whether the players get a chance to use it or not…??)

As for the Predator, I would also like to see some option to allow them to replenish some uses of their equipment. (but not medkits) (that can also be destroyed by the FT if found).

There is a moment when the timer is complete, but the fireteam hasn’t spawned in yet. So, basically, you were just a second or so too late.

What I would like to see is removing reinforcements, but also removing quick claims and fixing the time in downed state regardless of taking additional hits. Therefore, fireteam members could only die from bleeding out, getting downed three times, stealth killed, or long claimed. One can only dream.

I would like this also. I’m really not a fan of the quick claim mechanic.
