Mark where the call was made (as it is now) but don’t mark the departure location (Predator can figure that out in a variety of ways already in the game.) I think this allows for a few things to happen:
- Slows reinforcement time a bit and gives Predator more time to respond.
- More risk and reward for calling in reinforcements. Lone survivor still has to survive. Calling it in too early means you got one or two people out in the wilderness alone.
- Ups the immersion significantly rather than just magically teleporting people into the middle of the fight.
If the helicopter arrives quite fast I don’t think Predators finding and camping the location should be a problem. The key with this suggestion ins’t slowing things down significantly but reducing the pop-in and providing the Predator with some more strategic opportunities. It also makes the radio call less of an “easy button” for the fireteam.
