Reinforcements

Don’t know if this has been thrown out there multiple times so forgive me if this is redundant, but why can’t the FT just come back with what they had when they died instead of a full kit of supplies and ammo?

yes it has been posted several times. there is a search. lets kill fireteam once in 2 minutes and get back in the queue for 10. good idea. or get better and claim them 7 times in 15 minutes.

This. Please more people take this view.

I don’t understand about wanting to remove reinforcements. Why do people feel they lose when they kill 4+ FT members. Is it just because they didn’t get the win screen? If the Pred forces the FT to abandon their OBJ to go reinforce, you’re doing it right.

Now, on topic I would say FT reinforce should come in at full HP (Pred could be camping the radio as well) but have 1/2 the gear. I think that would be a fair compromise.

when i first died because the fireteam respawned in my face and body blocked me i was annoyed and posted as well. once you know how to deal with it, reinforcements is a key mechanic to having fun continuing the hunt in different stages. you know where they are going to reinforce and have plenty of time to trap it or ambush and can wreck them off the bat if you even want to.

Let’s hope to get some improvements

ya i understand the sentiment. the only thing is the sentiment i believe comes from newish players and no offense meant at all by that to them but it shouldnt be balanced according to that, they should reach a certain proficiency first and rethink reinforcements. others deal with it just fine and use it to lay bait and traps, as a predator does.

I concur with this strategy, full health but half the supplies.

This includes:

  • 50% Ammo on Person
  • 50% Ammo Pouch
  • 50% Med Kit
  • 50% Throwables aka Grenades (odd number favors 2 of normal 3)
  • 50% Field Syringe

So, when they come back do they come back with only one down left? If not then I think that’s probably what should happen.

this sounds like you are speaking from a fireteams perspective? I’m not sure I follow that sentence to be honest.

I was speaking in regards to skull claims as the Predator.

My point was simply, from the predator’s perspective, which i play and am for reinforcements:

If it takes you 15 minutes to kill 4 people once then there are higher skill levels to be reached.
Once reached, you will be thankful they can reinforce and you can hunt them again for a max of 7 claims in a total of 15 minutes.
Once 1 Fireteam is killed the rest fall like dominos most of the time anyways so the game is significantly easier than with a full 4 man team.
Once you reach higher skill levels and can kill and claim 3 people in 1 - 2 minutes you will appreciate reinforcements because they extend the game and you don’t have to wait 10 minutes to play 2 minute games.
I’m not writing with any ill will by the way, that is just my experience here.

I don’t think the game should be balanced around what is difficult in the earlier skill levels. that results in a game with a low skill ceiling and gets old fast.

If Fireteam are balanced to be significantly harder to kill or players get super good i guess then i may very well change my mind here.

I disagree there are other ways to go about extending the game with out giving the fire team more Options and power in their favor, like side Objectives, what if the predator is allowed to hunt bears or Wolfs or Loins or you know something else then players if they do said task they get more points towards Feild boxes and items. seems fun and fair. or maybe theirs a High value AI target/targets in differnt parts of the map away form the Objectives for the Fire team. those are great ways to extend the game you dont need an Undo button in the map that undoes the predators hard work.

ok i appreciate your idea. i would say as people are queuing to have the vs experience vs npc may be less interesting than refining a full on intense player vs player experience.

i do agree however that more things and more ways for the predator to track and do predator type stuff would be awesome. and have a more cat and mouse experience than found fireteam aggro fireteam, game over.

its not a perfect mechanic but within the framework they have already built instead of creating whole new frame works it serves its purpose. its not my favorite though! reinforcements that is.

im not saying i want it removed as i dont think its Broken but i am saying its annoying and i dont like the way their going about there game. less give this to this team give that to this guy. and more you can do what your doing sure, BUTTTTTT you can also go ahead and do this if your greedy.

im not saying Replace it am saying add it, you know? if you want pvp you can still go ahead and do it but if you want more points or to do more then just hunting players then this is an option for you.
