Reinforcements

What do you guys think of reinforcements? As someone who plays about 80% FT I would change 2 things.

  1. The team members respawn with only a partial loadout. I’d say 1 syrette, their weapons and possibly less than full ammo. If you were carrying medkits or any other gear you should only reinforce with one of each too. This makes it a bit fairer for the pred.

  2. To be fairer to the FT the radio should not actually be in the map until the reinforcement mission is available and then it should spawn in one of several locations. Right now the pred can find it first and lay traps. Today I was going for a radio in the trainyard and the pred was actually camping above it waiting. Allowing the pred to find the active radio would be like letting the FT see dead pigs on the map.

As a side note they need to fix the bug where it gives a 2nd reinforcements mission but nobody respawns when the radio is activated. This mission shouldn’t appear at all.

I think ft have to respawn with partial ammo and NO syrette to be Fair. It’ s too broken and unfair in favor of ft to call reinforcements right now. Predator has to lose all of his resources to kill 2/3 and then they will just come back with their all kit restored.

YES! only with one more change less max health by 20% or force you too pick a new load out with the same rule as you stated.

The radios at the possible reinforcement sites should all spawn, but only one will become active when the mission becomes available. Thoughts?

I main Predator. But, I don’t see the issues with Reinforcements.
Not saying this shouldn’t happen, but this is how I feel.
And I’m only speaking for myself.
I don’t know how other Predators choose to play or conduct their quote honor killing.

Perspective 1.
In my experience so far.
If I down an entire team.
I let the last man live so he can get reinforcements.
Knowing very well.
They probably now out resource me.
But this forces me to play wiser then before.
Like fighting a second wave of a boss.
More risk, greater bragging rights and honor when I kill all of them again.
I see it as a challenge for myself.
I see them now understanding how I fight and kill.
So if they adjust to it.
It makes it all the more worth having to fight them now.
More then ever.

Something I like to keep in mind.
I know my limits as a predator.
I know that if I down a team within a reasonable time.

That they were not ready for this fight.
They are at their weakest right now.
Letting them reinforce allows them to adjust.
Prove they can actually be a worthy team.

However, if I notice a team is already tough.

I’ve downed them all but one.
And, I had to put out incredible effort in doing so.
Then, it is on me as the predator to NOT allow them to reinforce.

I drained myself dry to kill them now.
They are already technically worthy because I had to fight tooth and nail.
Allowing a clearly strong team to reinforce would be suicide.
Shame on me as a Predator for allowing it.
In my eyes, I’ve already failed now.
Weather it be blind greediness on my part.
Or clumsy hunting.
_

A good Predator picks and chooses their battle.
Use their resources accordingly.
If their not controlling the playing field then they’ve already lost.
Good fire-teams rarely need to reinforce.
Desperate ones have to or forfit.

_

But lets say this change goes through.
How it would effect me.
Well, then killing an already desperate team.
Letting them reinforce.
Only for them to be lacking full potential.
They become less of a threat.
I probably wouldn’t feel the challenge.
It takes away the honor and fun in playing with my prey.
_

Another thing that worries me.
I down 3 humans.
They end up leaving the match anyways.
Sometimes only 1 player is reinforced.
So taking some resources away might encourage this.
Lack of hope to win, or rage induced by punishment for making one little mistake.
And, dying for it.

But just my thoughts. Oh well. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

But then the pred can throw one trap at each site. Would be different if there was about 10 possible locations but theres only about 3 each map. 2 in the trainyard are pretty much one leap apart.

Seems a bit harsh to go from full loads to basically nothing. At least my idea is somewhere in the middle and a good starting point. Also a lot of the time the pred kills 2 or 3 players just zerker rushing 2 minutes in so doesn’t seem like reinforcements are unfair when it’s a noob pred like that.

This is what I would to reinforcements:

  • Reinforcements should bring you back with a basic loadout (as in the preset FT loadouts from when you first start the game) or only give you your melee, primary, and secondary weapons. No gear and your ammo is not restored (meaning if your secondary was empty, then it’s staying empty)

  • FT members that are claimed or are in the process of being claimed after reinforcements are first called should not come back. That’s just plain BS. I killed you after the call was made, why the hell should you get come back with them? It’s even stupider when I long claim someone after the reinforcement call was made and it finishes after they arrive, but the guy I just killed comes back with them. I did that once and my jaw was on the floor for a couple of minutes. It makes no sense whatsoever.

It’s fine if the Predator traps/camps the radio because he is using time and resources to trap it and then taking a gamble by camping it. You guys could always ignore it and go for the objectives, making him waste time by protecting the radio. Shoot the traps that he’s set up and guard the one making the call.

How often do you call in reinforcements as FT and go on to win? Reinforcements are necessary as is. or else the reward and payoff are diminished

Reinforcements are needed. Do you know how many times I’ve seen predators global 1 guy, claim him and then leave even if his second wind triggers? At that point, in 3, you’re screwed for the most part. Second wind has a CD. Just poke at the people with arrow/disk and then repeat it when second wind is up again.

In most of my games, reinforcements are used on 1 guy. So do the same, kill 1 guy early on and then people are going to use reinforcements for that guy who was already mostly with full gear.

The only way you could nerf reinforcements is if you increase TTK buy a good degree for both sides.

I played that russian squad last night which show just how broken the game is for high level play. Managed to kill two of them but then they get reinforcements and it’s like the game just started only I don’t my healing back. It’s also so easy for them to have someone in a high position who can see a ton of the map and then deny pigs.

Reinforcements need some changes. If the predator gained 2 extra healing kits when a reinforce is successful that would still be FT favoured but at least the pred gets a few extra healing options.

I wouldn’t give the pred anything when the FT reinforces. He’s already got pigs. Just give the FT a bit less gear and ammo. Even though I play mostly FT I do feel it’s slightly unfair right now but I’d only tweak it a bit right now by reducing gear and syrettes. Nothing too drastic, start small and see how it goes.

Do carry on to win quite a bit.

Agree on the claiming part. Disagree on the radio trapping, camping. If I am last man standing and manage to stealth my way to the radio, sometimes with the pred being super close to me but not seeing me due to mud then it’s not fair to hit 3 traps giving him an alert to come get me before I can even start the timer.

A couple of days ago the pred had all 3 traps on the radio and I had to set off all 3 to get to it.

If pig spawns were improved then I might give you that but they’re so irregular you can’t rely on them. Plus with the stupid mechanic of spawning around the damn FT a good FT will just deny them. Happened to me the other night and it’s brutal. I should at least be able to flat out run from them to get a pig at the far end of the map but nope they’re all around the FT who have just reinforced so haha lol no health for predator…

Yeah they can fix that though. It’s not linked to nerfing reinforcements. They need to start fixing actual issues before they start using the nerf or buff hammer.

I don’t understand. If a FT calls in reinforcements that means that

  1. they have been pulled from the objective (time bonus for predator)
  2. theres a notification and some time for the Pred to get into position (positioning bonus for Pred)

1+2) now that you have the position and time advantage, the “second half” of gameplay is in your favor. Regardless of equipment on FT side.

A good predator can isolate a victim, down them, and either claim em or bait em without the FT healing up. I don’t find the “insane amount of healing” the FT can do to be a problem seeing as the pred has infinite heals.

I would agree that reinforcements would be OP if:

  1. the pred weaponry wasn’t almost entirely reusable. (Aside from gear n shit)
  2. pigs and health were finite
  3. second wind didn’t regenerate

Predator has the advantage regardless

pig are finite lol… and they are 50/50 unfindable on maps

That’s an exaggeration. If you know how pigs work you can always find them. Plus they don’t despawn so kill one and it’ll be there the whole game. Just bc they aren’t there immediately when you need one doesn’t mean they aren’t there at all.

lol on PC buddy there are indeed times where u won’t find more than a few pigs at extreme points on the map lol… I ain’t exaggerating rofl
