This is one of those skill issues at it’s core.
FT can only parry you hitting them from the front, so if you want the big dmg combistick than you need to come in from the side or behind to get the hits in OR you need to bait the FT players into parrying before striking.
If you think parrying is stupid and FT shouldn’t be able to because you just want to face on roll them well… the answer is already in the game… use the disc and all your parrying woes will go away.

The knife 🔪 parry is a great feature for the Fire Team.
If you find yourself in melee with a good FT using knives, change your fucking attack strategy rather than simply spamming right trigger with a melee weapon.

Its retarded because a 10 inch knife wielded by a human shouldn’t stun the predator. It pulls me straight out of immersion when it happens. It especially pulls me out of immersion when a human charging a predator with a knife is an effective way of countering predator’s melee.

I’m in favour of the tier system. Weapons that can be used with ranged weapons (ie wirstblades) still have the stun. The weapons are the same size, and the knives are likely Veritanium by now. Weapons that are ranged weapons (smart disc and combi stick) Don’t stun, but forces you to restart the combo. You can keep meleeing, but that can keep parrying, but you can eventually win. Weapons that are only melee (Club Sword) continue the combo. Because your can’t just throw them in combat means that if the person can parry, the weapon is useless, so by continuing the combo, you will get hits in.
I like those ideas and would be interested to see them implemented.
Regarding knife, I think the relative strength and mass of the bodies involved is more important than the materials of the weapons.

I don’t think saying that it takes timing skill to parry makes it more acceptable for this game in this context.
So… yeah, I don’t care. I love Street Fighter from way back, though. Played the original Street Fighter in the arcades when it was new. Those big buttons were hilariously awesome back then.
But you can’t just ignore points you disagree with. He’s point was a rebuttal to “you just spam. No skill” and he’s simply saying “no, parrying takes timing just like street fighter”
