Rings Of Power Season Finale

Yeah, explaining why you think its well made. Consumers enjoy anything new, so its not even worth talking about.

Consumers enjoy anything new? Since when is that statement true. Did consumer enjoy last season of GoT when it was new and fresh? Did people enjoy Prequals or Sequals when that was new? That statement is silly and false

Avoiding the actual question still?

But the answer is yes. As you just said, people did. Prequels were loved until years went by, and still are loved. Sequels soured far quicker for people but were loved as they came out. These are just facts.

lol they were not loved when they first came out what are you talking bout? And i could tell you i loved the music, the work done by WETA, Everything in regards to Elrond & Durin, The call backs to the movies, The use of Real actors in make up for the orcs etc etc. Why does it matter? I can sense that you are just gonna be toxic bout it. Which is fine, but im not gonna stick around here for it. God bless

All that is fine, but I’m asking what was well made about it.

I can tell you how much I loved Face Off. I’m not going to defend the movie, its not good. I could go on about what I enjoyed about Prey, and that’s a 4/10. I could talk about what I liked about the Prequels if you want, that doesn’t make them good.

The point here is telling someone what you enjoyed about something isn’t a discussion. Its two separate posts and that’s it.

They go hand in hand. 1st off. I never said it was well made. 2nd off. having a good score with good actors playing off of each other well aka durin and Elrond is two points that goes towards making a well made series. Also, good set peices and art direction and costume design is another thing making it well made. Having LotR balrog be a man in a tiger suit would make the movie lesser then it turned out. All the things i said i enjoyed are also things that could be argued for it being well made.

They absolutely do not go hand in hand. People love “The Room” because of how terrible its made.

Second off, those two are not playing off each other well at all. Durin is constantly walked over and ignored, several things the dwarfs state in this show are just completely ignored, and Durin acts a buffoon. Music is fine, most of the actors are trying despite the pile of excrement the script is. The sets are nice, but the costumes are awful. Not just medieval wise, but with the budget they have, I’d expect them to not look crayon drawn on rubber. I don’t know why you brought up the Balrog like that. I’ve nothing against CGI and point at the FotR for proof.

And while you can point at things that are well made and say that’s why you enjoyed something, enjoying something does not make it well made. Its why there is a distinction.

Durin and Elrond did play well of each other. Thats my opinion. And well made, cgi was well made. Sets were well made. Music was well made, practical effects were made well, costumes were well made, maybe you didnt like the look of em, but they were still well made. Those are some of the things that cant be denied. Love it hste it but some of the scenes akd compositing is insane in this series. The shots between the stranger and Nori for example. And they basically had every big effects studio working on this including weta.

I’m not giving opinions. I’m not projecting my consumer enjoyment onto the craft.
They are an abusive relationship. CGI was okay, sets were great, music was okay, practical effects were meh, costumes were worse than Spirit Halloween. Compositing was okay.
But the biggest point of quality, and most important thing to discuss, is the script. And considering the bad guy’s plan for the sword and the key could have been solved easier with an Orc and a hammer. I wouldn’t know where to start with how terrible everything is written. Remember the scene where Elrond said he wasn’t there spying, then was caught spying, said he wasn’t spying, and Durin believed him?

HOW IF CHRISTOPHER TOLKIEN MADE BOOKS ABOUT IT?! (The second age since you probably don’t understand since you are now raging like a baboon and spam typing oh and it’s call the scouring) Which is why I quoted the materials you failed to mention that amazon didn’t either? 🤔 I mean if I’d like the movies wouldn’t I also like the tv series since mentioned cut materials? 🤷🏽 But yet I sourced the books?! Ya you don’t know me and you didn’t even read what I wrote, not surprising since your praising amazon and the films for ruining Tolkiens work 🙄 you are the one who assumes and you shouldn’t enjoy these garbage adaptations even peters jacksons because J.R.R Tolkien didn’t and so did his son Christopher 😐

Evil can not create, only corrupt. Numenorians jealous of the elves immortality and swayed by Sauron? Nah they just racist cuz elves took er jobs! Galadrial being a powerful sorcerer, wise ruler and courtesan? Nah gotta be a warrior with a big sword.

This stuff has to reflect the world we live in today! Sure it may be hamfisted messages about “current year politics”, and deciding that the only way women can be powerful is by being shitty knockoff offs of masculine heros with added shitty personality but that’s all good stuff!

Like I’ve said before, the shadow of war and mordor games were more faithful to tolkeins lore despite them saying it was a fanfic “what if” deal.

I forgot about that!

Remember that the Numenorians were getting riled up because elves would take their jobs. When there was only one elf… Who wouldn’t stop talking about how she wants a ship to leave immediately…

Are you agreeing or disagreeing? If your agreeing that is good because even if it reflects our time it dose not because the author himself and son do not agree with adaptations because they do not represent the message they intended except for what Amazon is selling so it is a big deal

Oh I’m saying it’s shit and anyone that thinks “re-imagining for a modern audience” is a good thing is fucked in the head. The classics are classic for a reason, they are timeless because they deal with struggles of the common person through out the ages or they are simply escapism to a fantasy world with no reflection on the current/real one.

All this re imagining or adapting to MODERN audiences fails because it’s all ham fisted attempts that don’t land at all.

Tolkein used inspiration from our world and his faith yes, but lord of the rings didn’t reflect our world it was simply fantasy and about good over coming evil.

And how did we go from getting hundreds of actual horse riders for the rohirrim scenes and actually crafting shit tons of chain mail and coming up with new ways to design and film… to t shirts with printed scale mail

Lol 😂 ya I thought Amazon spent billions of dollars? if it wasn’t on costumes I hope it wasn’t writers lol 😂

It had to have gone to sets, because some of those actually look very good. Like the dwarven location. Nothing else was done with the money.
