Really want Royce to be a Predator. In this case using the technology to account for his lack of physical abilities on their level. Like the Predator killer tech would be the perfect excuse. Royce uses his own suit. Maybe even explaining the blood as a more in depth version of the augmentation Dutch got to the point even his blood’s changed.
Then you have 2010 Royce whose a fireteam member. Maybe using his shotgun.
You can then do audio logs perhaps left for Isabelle revealing to her what he’s been up to since he saw her and even goading her into a fight since he swapped teams.
