Did a custom game, decided to see the damage they do, leaped to them and slamed, guess what, blind did nothing, the burned me (hunter) before I knew wtf happened and then even trough SW.
Please allow me to form parties with bots, I prefer them over the potatoes, this guys actually aim and shoot :D Bring 1 man premade guys :)
It makes me sad that terrible AI is better than most of the human players on the Fireteam side on this game :(

At aiming and shooting, if there is no player there so they can follow and just shoot, they just stand where they spawned and do nothing unless the predator shows up there.
Also at the distance I was sitting from them, in cloak I would’ve found the predator with no issue, the bots where not doing shit.
Yeah they suck. But that’s to be expected from Illfonic.
They brainlessly implemented king of the hill
AI programming =/= making a mode people would be interested in playing
We already knew their AI was trash. Clash itself isn’t bad there’s just no rhyme or reason as to why the first mode they decided to add was 0 effort king of the hill where everyone just brainlessly runs into a circle and kills eachother. Its TDM with even less steps.
With the way splash damage works that kind of design for this game doesn’t even make sense, everyone just respawns and lobs explosives into the circle.
Even a limited lives mode with the same idea would’ve been more engaging, say Search and Destroy.
It wasn’t hard to not fuck it up but yes they somehow went with the worst possible mode to copy.
The new game mode they implement was wanted by nobody. We don’t want another team deathmach (almost) we got far better game for those.
If they would’ve made a 2v8 or 3v12 it would’ve been very popular. Hell, even a new mode where the FT hunts the predator and the predator needs to escape a base and has limited gear and get’s more as he finds it.
Then why do I always see the argument “adding bots takes away resources and time for better things”? What could it possibly take away time from if it doesn’t take away anything from a new mode?
That just sounds like saying clash is bad but with extra steps. If they can screw up something as simple as that like you have said…then what makes people believe they can succeed in making a more complex, bigger mode? I think it just comes down to people being too optimistic and not looking at their track record. If they screwed up with something as easy as clash, they are definitely going to screw up on a bigger, harder mode. If they screwed up on the already existing AI, they will screw up on more complex AI. And so on and so forth with literally just about everything in this game.
My point is, people complain about them screwing up one thing, then expect them to somehow be successful in creating something else that isn’t broken. I just don’t see it the same way.
I believe that’s the whole point of it. As it is right now, is impossible to do a 1v1 when both players are competent (Pred will win 100% of the time)
But with those bots, 1v1 might actually be a thing among competent players
Popular for about as long as people can handle it. Most people would be turned off by poor balance, terrible optimisation, over abundance of bugs etc. Everything they’ve released has came with these. I don’t see why a mode like that would be any different.

Well bugs would be present like in any game. Optimization? No idea about consoles but I don’t fear if my PC can handle even 15 players. Balance? Meh, people always complain about balance. Personally even with bad balance I would welcome a 2v8 or 3v12 with opened arms!

I mean I would too, I’d play the game a lot if they did I personally would look past all that shit. But the problem is we’re not everybody. You are a hardcore player and you play this game even through its BS and that wouldn’t effect a player like you. But for people that aren’t as hardcore, it’ll be a hardpass for them if they can’t play a functioning mode.
So…asymmetrical balance is abandoned.

But hunt, for the most part works well enough for what the game is.
So adding more players, really shouldn’t be a problem.
If it does cause issues, they can then focus on getting that to work how this one does.

Add in at the very least a 2v8 hunt.
This will be enough for at least 3 months.
And then, if ilfonic doesn’t do anything differentor better, then let the playerbase fully die out.

Charlie is the best bot, even with 300 ping he hits top tier preds mid air with the sniper (god bless hitscan) + he does mission SOLO.
What the fuck is the point in them adding them if they don’t work properly out the gate? Just like everything else they’ve released in these updates
Because I’m looking at it through an objective, unbiased view point. My personal opinion is the AI fucking sucks and 3v12 would be better. And yes, despite my personal opinion the AI have added to the game. Doesn’t matter whether you like it or not it’s a fact. Some people are enjoying being able to come back and replace the AI and not have to face the predator in a 2v1 scenario. Am I enjoying it? No and just because I’m not personally enjoying it doesn’t mean others aren’t. Besides, I don’t care for the addition until it’s fixed properly, only thing that will keep me playing is the same mode you want but I know for a fact that objectively it will suck and just because I can sit through the bugs, poor optimisation etc doesn’t mean anyone else should have to.
If they just take hunt and add more players then they’d get lambasted for being lazy and rightfully so. Plus it would tank PS4 performance.
We got bots because to the devs that’s more feasible than a 3v12 mode. It was easier for them to make because it was most likely store bought unlike the new mode would be. That’s why we got them before a new mode. And just because we got them doesn’t mean I’m all giddy and dancing on the grave of people who wanted 3v12 because that couldn’t be further from the truth. I wanted the same thing you wanted. But the difference is I kept my expectations grounded in reality and didn’t let myself get caught up in the hype.
I think you just need to move on like the rest of us because this game will never be what you want it to be. So many people figured out so long ago the devs have their own plans for this game. So give up with recommending stuff to them, give up holding out hope for a game that can barely surpass 30 viewers on Twitch, give up and move on. That is all I can recommend to you.
