Ah, interesting descriptions - but it sounds softer - I wouldn’t call it snake like.
From POV of a non-polish, non-russian speaker, polish and russian sound quite similar:)

Its a not as melodic as Polish, but I’d say it sounds a bit intimidating. The words should more serious. Its a cool language for a discussion that is getting out of hand. Sounds assertive
There’s this option thet Germans are so serious and these no humor. I’d love to hear some German humor and be a judge of that
Not just Europe…
People do not understand, that diversity is fine, but that identity is lost as soon as there are more people from foreign countries than from the own…
But the reasons for that are lying deeper… If you would take away all immigrants from Germany, the population would decrease constantly since the the 80s.
So the real problem might either be, that our country is not children-friendly or that the economy does not know how to grow when the population shrinks - depends on your point of view:)
I guess similar considerations are true for other nations. At least I still do remember a guy with orange hairs who started to build a wall to Mexico…
That indeed is a big social problem here at the moment - if you ask me. Diversity is massively enforced but diversity of opinions is not allowed at all anymore :) Democracy is dying slowly…
But again, that is not just a german problem :)
Ah, interesting, one guy told me, that it sounds like a machine-gun… :))
True somehow… And it’s also true, that Germans are not polite at all… Seriously… I love to chat with people from the UK, they are so constructive/positive and polite!
For Germans the glass is always half empty, never half full - if you know, what I mean :)
The german mentality is “if there is a risk, do not do it”, whereas e.g. the US mentality is “if there is a chance, do it”… I dearly prefer the latter one, so I might not be a typical German :)
Guys, tell me, what is the mentality in your countries? What do you think?
German humour - hmmm. What I can say, that british humour is strange in our POV :) I have to ponder a little about a good example which is translatable :)
Amen to that bro, glad to know more ppl see things the way they are
Boo where’s the drama.
That is funny, because the same accounts for Swiss German… The word endings are those we use to “belittle” (do not know whether this is the right word - I mean, it is how we speak with children)… :)
It’s hard not to laugh but I nevertheless like it quite much. And by the way, I also like the swiss “popular referendum” things - it’s very democratic and seems to work well!
Patience bro, the drama queens still are sleeping - wait until they return… :)))
tbh - most Slavic languages sound similar quz they have the same ancestor language. But there are few that are… different. Czech for example is complete black magic to me - I can’t understand a single word, and if I come across a word that sounds semi-familiar than 100% it means something different than expected XDDD
Ah, that’s interesting again!
I have to admit, that, also I had a lot of czech friends and I even once took part in a czech marriage near Prague, I did not hear Czech for a while and cannot say, how it sounds different. I’ll have to take the time to compare some youtube videos next days…
Arrrrgh, it’s soooo disgusting, I’ll never get these pictures out of my head again… :)
No wonder you can’t remember much ;-) Those weddings are wild! XDDDD
…and the women beautiful :)))
Ukrainians like to laugh a lot (humor), but the country is always in some kind of turmoil and people seem depressed. Its a strange situation. They like to laugh at their troubles.
‘…i believe the German term for constipation is farfrompoopin…’, Spun City. Cracks me up every time. Says something about German language, as if words are not words at all but explanations of words
That really is sad man, sorry for that, hope times will get better soon!
:)))
Some truth in it…
I have pondered… I think we have great comedians, but comedy in Germany alsways is biting sarcasm, great biting sarcasm, but, it is always concerned with what another one did wrong.
So, I think, one could say, that nowadays there is no “easy going” german humour anymore, it always has a “serious background”. Maybe this is one reason why Germans are thought to be serious and not friendly too :)
Once there was this “easy going” stuff, one famous man was “Heinz Erhardt” - a master of simple, easy going humour.
Nowadays the “gold standard” is, if you ask me, “Dieter Nuhr” - but he is not “easy going” at all:)
A lot of Ukrainians came to Poland recently to get a better life - unfortunately only to find out that our county is even more depressing…
Idk man, when I was a kid things were different – every one was poor but happy as piglets in shit. Now its nation wide depression of some kind. No one is smiling to random ppl anymore
