Scout vs Hunter

So to the predator scout players : why do you choose that class? I’m running hunter with the long jump perk for uber mobility, faster recharge, and low cloak drain with bow and combistick. I think my build gives me lots of options but I rarely finish the whole FT. What’s the benefit of Scout over this build in your opinion? What perks do you run? Considering a class change wanted some opinions

Quiter. Faster stami a regen. Less gallop. Smaller/ faster / jumps further / inmo best class for pc players

I think they have faster energy regen also.

Yeah and faster overcharge regen.

My scout is “Master of Parkour”, “Refraction of Light”, “Frantic.” Bow + spear. I take traps and motion sensors with me. The difference in running speed is enormous, you have time to change position 5-7 times per fight and it’s more difficult to get into you because of a smaller hitbox, + because of increased mobility when you run left and right, reducing the distance you get MUCH less damage.

A hunter looks cooler.

The scout is a little too squishy for me and has the lowest energy pool out of the lot. Hunter with the “long jump” perk still has the mobility to run circles around a fire team, along with the added benefit of the largest energy pool. I also love using dithered lens, modified reserve, and impenetrable.

They should consider making long jump a permanent passive ability for the scout class.

For the stamina and energy. The bio mask also does not drain your energy, though it does slow energy recharge rate a little.
The squishiness helps temper me to not to run in and just melee. I also do not take a combistick for the same reason.
And to your point, even if you do not wipe the FT and some escape, I think everyone has a funner match overall.

Like the others, Speed and Stamina of the Scout are incredible (when Stamina doesn’t bug out) and Thermal uses no energy. The Scout’s build is slimmer. I’m not sure if that actually affects the size of the hitbox but it couldn’t hurt. Also, I’ve been testing energy recharge rates across the classes and I haven’t finished it yet but I suspect that Scout gets slightly better energy efficiency. Since I rely on the Plasma Caster for most of my ranged damage, better energy use is important.

Ah, thanks for the info about scout and thermal vision not draining energy. I’m curious if they recharge energy faster, too.

It’s all so backwards. Bezerk should be high health/takes less damage, but hardly any gear. Scout should have the most energy and equipment. And hunter should be a mix between the two. So simple.

The difference is gameplay changes drastically. With Scout you can dismantle Fire Teams with a frightening speed. Some games I had teams run away after first two kills and disperse in fear, because how quick these two kills were.
They can never get away from you and you always in the heat of action in no time. You can range and you can melee, you can run away and you can chase. You can relocate very quickly to the front of the team’s running direction while they still think you are behind them.
You can be forgiving, but can punish too.
Overall, my favourite class as it offers great dynamics to the gameplay.

P.S Just to add on energy regen. Seems being in heat vision actually restores energy. If you are both cloaked and in heat vision, energy drain is very slow. Not that I use heat vision much, but just an observation.

For one the scout gets 5-6 leaps before running low om stam as hunter only gets 2-3 and the scout is really fast. I run down range dithered lens and adrenal boost which adrenal boost on scout makes it so you can forever leap because the exhaustion recovery stacks. I run smart disk and bow and i play the hit and run game with him

When you encounter “stamina bug” - try to do melee attack for 2-3 times in a row and it un-bugs. Worked every time.

Constant tree maneuvering and caster harassment! Weather em down with the caster throughout the game, jumping around like a lunatic, then finishing with jumping in and out wrist blades and bow :)

Last time i tested (pre patch) down range did not increase bow damage.

May want to check that if you’re not using PC

I didnt test it myself but this person reddit tested every weapon every class and i definitely feel a difference

Looks like down range perk doesn’t do much. Maybe I’ll take it off 🙁

Oh so some of the perks actually work now… thank you for the link, will be making adjustments next time i hop on

If you dont land a lot of headshots it would be worth switching. One hit downs on 2/4(? Cant remember assault hp) will be worth the perk.

Well the reason I like to play scout is that they can do like four to five straight leaps before they lose enough stamina to where they can’t leap. This allows you to immediately be on top of the Fireteam from the second that they start moving on their first objective and many matches I catch them in the jungle not even at the first objective yet. This allows you to get out of virtually any situation you find yourself in with relative ease, given you haven’t been particularly careless. Overall it is a high mobility class.

As far as build goes… honestly I don’t use one build. I just throw on whatever perks I feel like. You can do Long Jump to get even mor mobility, Observant if you like to track so you are constantly on them, Light Bender so you can retain cloak longer to keep hidden while on the move. Any number of things. I found that using the Net Gun with a Bow is most effective for my play style. You can do damage at range comfortably without draining your energy so you can keep it for cloak to relocate without being spotted as easily while harassing and cc’ing extra targets so you can limit the number of people firing on you since your health is fairly low. And for extra gear motion sensors is your best friend as Scout.

All in all it depends on your play style really but for Scout you have to use the mobility and be moving as much as you can. Weaken, get the kill up close or at range and keep constant pressure from different angles.
