Shift suit downgrade

If I’m understanding the premise of Prey, feral is sort of a scout or Vanguard looking for suitable worlds to hunt. His suit is not affected by water at all, and he’s arguably wearing less technology than any other predator on screen.
This all seems to suggest that the hunters in the rest of the movies have been restricted to active camouflage technology that doesn’t work in water as a deliberate handicap…
Thoughts?

He stole his Dad’s ship and premium cloak package but skimped on everything else and didn’t read the user manual for the targetting laser.

Also that ship was the loudest and most obvious ever.

But the actual answer is the director wanted to make the invisible cgi blob more distinct so he added the red ripples to it. Thus cutting costs on detailing the pred or using the suit for the first hour of the film.

the first fight scene with Feral against the comanche is a guy in a suit, the more you know. they just add the half cloak with FX for some reason. You can watch BTS of the fight scene with the Predator suited up

Yeah an hour into the movie for the roar, after which it starts moving like mocapped video game animation because thats what it is. Then becomes a weird combat statue fighting the french with the shield, then goes back to video game CGI for the end. The suit is used in still shots like when its healing, slightly rotating, doing janky shit with its arms or just standing there with the shield. Movement in the film is just bad in general, didn’t have this problem with Wolf, Fugitive, the supers etc. Its like the director told the suit actor to not move lol.

Btw The Thing Remake also had studio ADI’s practicals BTS before the producers had them overlay the thing in CGI and the director stated he’d never work with american producers again lel.

and Predators? and Predator? and Predator 2?

Would they have been saved by cgi fight sequences or the addition of a pouty protagonist and her dog?

I hope john wick 6 is all cgi dodges and rubber punches you deserve this. full on Matrix sequel cgi flying fights in the cgi rain into a cgi explosion with no stunt doubles, just a disconnected cartoon sequence inserted into the frame of a movie.
