Cheers for clearing it up. I see why it was never introduced. I always thought it odd or a missing feature, but if that’s the case, I can see why… and the only time they would add it? is simply the pistol damage and other things, for it would have to change dramatically.

Correct which at least currently they don’t seem to be willing to nerf pistol damage cause instead they went with limiting the ammo count of pistols (currently you spawn with 3 clips of pistol ammo which isn’t alot considering that could literally just be three fights with predator and now you have no ammo)
But then again you only get three chances of taking 80% of their hp away in less than 2 seconds

I mean the idea seems cool in theory, I liked that on acm, main problem in phg is that the fireteam is already too overpowered and adding anything that would buff it would just make things worse.
I can trade the existence of support field medic, recon tracker, dante and pistol damage for fts being able to shoot downed, just nerf the unbalanced ft shit first.

Being able to use a Pistol & shoot the Predator while downed wouldn’t work in the game balance wise because of how overpowered the Fireteam already are, their damage output is way too high & the Pistol (1011-12) is quite literally the highest DPS weapon in the game. The Predator already has to be very precise with their shots & not make any mistakes to get a Fireteam player down as it is at the higher levels. Imagine shooting a Dante Fanatic with 6 arrows & he just doesn’t die, keeps using syrettes 2 or 3 times while running around in circles shooting you, can tank 2 Combistick throws while downed, and then when you finally get him down, he just keeps shooting you & puts you in second wind or outright kills you before you can even finish him off. And that’s not even considering the other 3 Fireteam members who will be melting you at the same time you’re trying to kill this guy.
The concept is a good one of course, it has worked in other games like Aliens Colonial Marines for example, and it makes some degree of sense. But, with this game & it’s balancing, it would never be a good idea to implement. It would make the Predator even more underpowered than they already are, and the Fireteam even more overpowered than they already are.
Another thing though, it also wouldn’t make any sense for a Fireteam member to still be able to shoot perfectly fine after a Predator downs them anyway. You wouldn’t be able to shoot fine after having a Smart Disc cut through you or a Combistick split your head in half would you? If anything, the Fireteam should only be able to be downed once before outright death upon the depletion of their health bar. This would be more realistic & it would be a better change in the name of balancing too. You don’t see anyone just getting knocked down & standing back up after a fully charged Plasma Caster shot hits them directly in the face do you? No, they either get a hole blown in them or turned into red mist.

Please stop being a cocktard. Or a horrible troll, can’t tell which. If the balance was different and the damage the pistols deal was lower, sure, cool idea. But the 1011-12 with various damage stacks is stupidly OP.

or after being shot down you would have a special offer of “swearing” and you could spam the predator with swearing “fuck your mother you nasty fucking brat” or he could kick you in the ankle
I would just make it hip fire only.
Ultimately, it would really just be useful for killing ai anyway, since most preds are just going to immediately claim you or kill from range, so I don’t think it would be terribly unbalanced.
As always, this should come with some changes that help predator players. I still think the most obvious weapon to nerf would be the Sawz50. The pistols actually got a slight damage nerf already, so I still think the best thing to do with them is cap the fire rate a little lower, similar to Battlefield games. Finally, I think the predator should get a massive damage reduction while sprinting, just like Scout and Dante, 20% global damage reduction while sprinting as a passive for all predators.

I died 4x today…
It’s been a long time since that happened to me.
It becomes very difficult to play Preda.
FT are too strong.
As a Preda, nothing works in your favor at the moment.
- They complete the mission too quickly, which doesn’t give you time to hang around;
- FT do too much damage forcing you to retreat too often;
- The bolt-action rifle;
- The radio that ruins your game;
- FT class passives that are added to their specializations make them simply too strong.
For the Preda, they nerfed:
- energy
- endurance
- all weapons.
Against good FT, the game is unbalanced in my opinion.
To rebalance everything:
If the Predas remain in the state:
- nerf all FT weapons and equipment by at least 20%.
- nerf the radio.
Either remove it completely or extend the cooldown of reinforcements.
In the current state, it is impossible for Preda to intervene.
If FT and the radio remain in the state:
- Restore the energy and endurance of the Predas as it was before;
- Restore weapons damage as it was before;
- Increase the life of all classes by 500 HP
And to conclude on the author’s request, yes it’s a good idea on paper… But certainly not in the current state of the game. There wouldn’t even be any more at stake. FT would literally be invincible…
