Should I keep opening crates? Or just buy the things I want?

I’ve been level 100 for about 3.5 weeks now and have used the majority of my money on buying weapon lockers. I’ve only received about a dozen red drops and never a gold drop. This is after hundreds of crates. Should I keep opening them or just forget it? It may be that my drop luck is so bad that I’ll never receive anything good, and I can accept that.

The gamblers fallacy is thinking that you can only lose so many times in a row, you’re “owed” a win eventually. Have I fallen into this trap? Does Illfonic care?

Im the same, however you can’t buy trophies and reskins, the only items worth having. So keep at those crates :)

you should straight up just buy the things you want lootboxes are a bad business practice and unlock/progression system only buy scam boxes when you have all the current things you want to buy

I usually buy what I want and open lockers if I have ~1500-2000 currency left.

Buy everything so everything after is duplicate and you risk nothing going for a mystic.

Yeah, there are some things only found in loot crates. However, if you have a goal in mind, you should do that. Like I saved all my V for my first pred appearance. Now I’m rolling the dice to get those unbuyable stuff and slowly earning stuff for the rest of my Clan.

when you buy crates you are most likely to get what you pay for with V.

The only thing i have purchased with V was a 25 000 armor for Predator. Nocturne helmet and its color, Predlocks, I just wanted my Hunter to look good that is it. the rest I won through crates.

After hitting level 100 I opened a crate and got the bobcat trophy. before hitting level 100 I was getting the nice drops.

It sucks that you have to grind V for crates, but the thing is im getting three items for a fraction of the cost of one item, and Ive got things through crates I was saving for… for 500 V instead of the original price.
ok its random and its the luck of the draw, but i found just getting a crap load of crates gives you a lot of what youre going to purchase anyway.

So I say save up V… try to resist the urge to buy crates… then when you reach a high amount of currency sit there and open a crap load of crates… therefore getting the things you want for a fractioon of its price.

I’m going for a million V… as soon as I get it im blowing it on crates… so far ive saved 55000
