I don’t believe you lol.
That said if that predator is a good one, he most certanley can do that in a 1v1 with anyone.

He can do that with me even if the player controlling him is blind… and paralized
Oh, I see what you’re doing there… You want to lead the predators into a false sense of security before you pounce on them like an alie . I got you!
NOOOOOOOO!!!
Seriously I’m shit as fu**! Comon! Play with me!!!
Personally - No.
Its powerful as if you have skill enough to hit them multiple times. The ceiling on its effectiveness is now skill based and it doesnt even have to be direct as it has splash damage.
When this game first launched a fully charged cannon shot would down a FT member with splash damage and it was too much.
My first ever Predator win was back when shoulder PC was 1 hit down. I downed one and literally lit the whole team up while trying to revive him.
Back then yeah it got exploited real hard and fast but I think with some tweaking to overload recharge and enough people have learned not to try and save a downed ft member in the open that it should go back to max 1 shot.
Maybe add a 2-3 second delay before it can be fired again to prevent spamming the FT to death
Yes, I remember that and I’m against splash damage being so powerfull, but a fully charged direct shot should, no doubts, be able to down any class, without protective perks.
its in ok spot, i dont think any instakill will be healthy for this game, so im against full charge instadown
Imagine stopping to mud up or activate and objective. Boom dead. No thx man. Imagine those long activation objective where you need to sit there for a long time. Then imagine the predator 1 shooting you from a HUGE distance. If someone does the laser trick you will not even know its coming before it hits you.
The only one who could fight this off are 4 man premades with snipers. The rest? would get destroyed by a pred on top of a tall building picking over and shooting. There is no way you can return fire. He comes out only when he shots and when he does, if you get hit you’re dead. Now imagine also having the damn AI on you. You can’t even ignore them now to focus on the pred, the damage they do is crazy.
That’s kind of part of the point. If you stop in the middle of the compound completely open and uncovered you should be punished. At this point though unless you’re using the bow, the pred is just giving away his location. The Predator is practically just a nuisance now because if he engages and you’ve got 2 people who know what they’re doing on FT he’s melted. There is little to no fear of the pred from players of experience.
If the mission objective is placed there, where do you expect me to stop? When you mud up where do you expect me to stop, inside a house?
That said I don’t think you’ve read the discussion, this was about making the PC 1 shoot you. PC does not even give away your position BEFORE its shoot if you do the laser trick.
No I’ve read the conversation and providing context for the argument. You wanna mud up be smart and do it under cover behind a building, in the brush, plenty of places to hide while mudding, I do it all the time.
Those objectives are probably supposed to leave you vulnerable even still in most cases your done and moving in the time it takes to charge and fire. The only one that really really leaves you exposed is the pump house one and even then if you’re team is covering you they can push the pred back while someone gets you to your feet (or now self revive).
Dude, I do try to do that, even under bridges. The predator can see you way before you start doing that and blast you. In bushes or under stuff you are still exposed in certain angles.
Usually if you down 1 man the rest are at a HUGE disatvantage. The first strike is guaranteed and a man is down. You down one and then you engage normally since you’re fighting only 3 people. Very few teams can fight that off (if the predator is good but he should be if we consider 4 man premade). For randoms a 1 shoot weapon would be way to devastating.
Yup… just have imagined it… still works!
The idea is for FT to stay togheter and work as a unit - no one gose anywhere alone, one dose something, other guy covers him and shoots if he spots the laser. Coop basically.
Solo heros should be punished with one shot one kill plasma caster - it would get the stakes way up and make the game more chalenging for every one. At the same note - I would love to see preds health nerfed - give him less health, but better stealth and proper plasma caster - that would make this game interesting.
I disagree. Honestly at the end of the day what this game really needs is a FT tutorial in all truth but there are certain things that should be figured out pretty quick. If you’re mudding up, have cover, both physically (buildings and terrain) and by a teammate being near because that’s when you’re most vulnerable. Don’t run out in the open all willy nilly while an 8ft hunter with a lazer gun is trying to kill you.
Yeah one shots will hurt less experienced players. It’s a learning curve, happens once or twice you learn not to stop in the middle of the open and to cover your teammates when they’re doing something.
And then you get hit by the realization that this game allows people to que alone. Yes, perhaps that would work with 4 man premades, how about the other 90% of the population?
Git Gud ?
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!
No need, the PC is not a 1 shoot.
We have watched predators melt people in the movies.
Rework ideas:
Longer shoulder aim time for 1 hit kill. (Maybe it even overloads the caster)
Single pot shots shouldn’t take up nearly as much energy, but have a more of a pestering effect. Pot shooting now, takes off a ton of damage and you can easily down a FT with down range.
So yea, more energy spent for the 1 hit kills. While the smaller caster shots cost maybe 1/8th of a bar, but do like 10-25? Instead of 40?
Spitballing…
This can work. I mentioned earlier a delay firing to avoid spamming. Like an overheat so you have a cooldown timer that tacks on a few seconds more before you can fire. I’d be okay with lowering damage on non charged shots too.
