Should the game be fast or slow paced

When I first started playing hunting grounds , I would normally run heated , light bender and modified reserve , it was fun to get in close and more often than not I would watch the fireteam and see who would separate first . My games now? Consist of ranged loadouts but with the combi , so it can double up as melee and usually a take less damage perk. Then fireteams started exfiltrating after 3 minutes, they ended up with anti-cloak grenades , UAV , spotting that slows you down and the list goes on , the slow methodical play punishes you and being quick off the mark punishes you aswell . So it comes down to finding a spot in between which varies from fireteam to fireteam . The perks for pred aren’t balanced , a scout with modified reserve barely drains its energy with thermal and cloak both used at the same time , but if you have modified reserve with heated or light bender? Its a fraction of the time your energy lasts .

I’ve always said illfonic wanted this to be a poor man’s call of duty with a gamemode that has the pred in it , but I’m starting to think they don’t even know themselves what they want to be . After a year its a bummer and bugs seem to pop up now even without something being added in , which makes more sense for it to occur , but I had a game today where certain ammo crates I couldn’t destroy , my mask was undamaged but my plasma shots weren’t landing where I aimed and still after a year, something as basic as leaping onto a tree doesnt work . You end up pouncing like a cat through the air completely missing the tree . Its a sad time to be a gamer and a predator fan , we are being shit on from two points at the same time

High TTK doesn’t work for a stealth game btw friends. You can’t make people play carefully if you give them multiple chances.

I want Hunt Showdown/Escape from Tarkov with predator.

Phases could be cool but AI is too poor to really pad out midgame.

First phase stealth, 2nd phase shootout (shootout is longer failing the stealth phase), 3rd phase traps for pred/last man standing?
I’d also like to point out that pred can track who’s worth the most points after scanning them already & this mechanic goes completely wasted ingame right now

A. Slow pace doesn’t mean stealthy (though it can)

B. Low TTK means fast kills

Nature of the killer in this game kinda means it needs to be stealthy.

Invisible tank isnt the best mix

Won’t be having a slow game with the AI’s spectral awareness.

Ahem cough replace AI with players. Clash gets stealthy.
Even with good AI after 50 matches you know what to expect from artificial intelligence

It should have moments of both

Predator shouldn’t feel rushed to kill FT

Yah this is my first time dealing with AI this rough.

To be honest. The game.should make you feel like your playing as a real Predator, and Ft should feel like your fighting against a real alien threat. And It just doesnt feel that badass. Just feels like “oh this guy again” or “am I gonna get my worth in for my wait this time”.

In general I think thats an issue with asymmetrical games. DBD and Evolve are like this too. Once you know the limitations of the killer it becomes repetitive.

Someone needs to do a permadeath style asyim to keep the tension instead of premades eventually just bullying the solo player in these games.

I don’t think it should be any set focus.
It should depend on the match, and mission.

Not everything should be fast. Not everything should be slow.

This game was originally marketed at both Slow pace + slow TTK asymmetrical PvE game

But then after they yoinked the pre-order money they decided to scrap that idea and turned this into like pvp fast paces high TTK game… which isnt what i bought and saw when i looked at the trailer and their synposis.

This doesn’t sound good tbh.
Too much healing on ft side.

Also way too many chances for ft.
Quick claims arent a problem man.
They’re already risky as hell.

At this point the way I reimagined the game to be redesigned as is.

  • You can reinforce 2 times but you get 50% with the shit u landed in with the first place.
  • Reduce pig healing from like 80% healing to like 50% & make it spawn less but randomly without it being locked towards fireteam and can be abused by fireteam. Basically RNG
  • Less healing from first aid bags & healing syringes too (takes two syringes to heal up to 100% health) same with the first aid bags.
  • Remove the target isolation to spot instantly where the fireteam is, rather make it show the direction where they are moving and let the preds see the footsteps and how fresh they are.
  • Add FULL RNG to the game where everything is randomly generated and missions change depending on how good and bad you do them.
  • Increase match length up to 30min or more.
  • Add Puzzle’s to the mission objectives and make them random.
  • Bring back One shot plasma (with a twist where it overloads you + uses entire energy)
  • Add Bullet drop
  • Bullet projection
  • Make predator Cloak realistic to the point where its like 99.9% invisible from distance and 95% invisible from up close when normally walking, and 80% invisible when running.
  • Add realistic armor damage both FIRETEAM & PREDATOR, where if u break predators armor u deal way more damage than usual to make up for one shot plasma.
  • Both sides deal less damage if being shot from the distance from one another & The more you are closer the more damage you deal

The one shot plasma draining Full energy is the worse one tbh.

I just did that to not make fireteam plebs get mad that predator has infinite energy lmao… and has no nerf towards plasma

True i cba with the humans anymore… they are saying that the game is what it is when in fact its not what it is… it should have been what they marketed it for before the full release but they changed it after the pre-orders…
