It’s just shading. You can do it pretty easily in the first Guerilla Outpost in the Tutorial.

It’s actually gold mask, teal rebel, bronze armor, and the skin is pulse. I’ve been rocking this since I unlocked them in the fist week, minus the gold and teal, and haven’t changed them since
