This is gonna make me put the game down tbf, and weirdly it’s nothing to do with the actual gameplay: no fkin mics users. Took a week off as smashed hours wise when released and got to lvl 84 so played a lot at launch, come back past few days absolutely terrible experience game after game. Frustrated as fuck and unfortunately I cba. I guess illfonic thought people would use mics, but without you’re literally loading into a game to be killed straight away. I’m at the point where if you don’t have a mic I’m leaving the lobby as no point. And even though queue times are fast for me, with all the negative coverage on YouTube etc. like that Aussie wanker with his 300k views bashing this game as if it were a triple A title, I can’t convince my pals to pick this up. If you’re a solo player the game is dying, each game is like Groundhog Day and we’re already in a fkin pandemic so I don’t need that. Yeah I can play as Predator but having like 6 games an hour given the 1 player slot is not great. On the flip side I imagine if there is you and 3/4 other pals who have bought it, the experience will be epic, but solo players, meh I’m bored now.

Maybe use your mic to give them tips…just don’t curse them out and yell at them in the process or they are more likely to do the opposite to spite you.

Tried. No one listens mate unfortunately, they just sprint off to their death as not everyone sticks together, when I do get a game with players with mics it’s great that’s why it’s so annoying.

Once you realize that the predator can hear everything going over the voice chat… what’s the point? The only benefit it would serve is to share information with your FT members privately, but you can’t. The fact the predator can hear it all if he’s even remotely close by means there’s nothing you can really say that needs said so badly but you wouldn’t mind the predator hearing it: strategy, plans, callouts etc. You really need external comms for that.
Taken to the extreme, I’ve been in discord with friends where we purposely used the voice chat to trick the predator and lull him into a false sense of security, saying stuff like “I don’t know where he is! This is FUBAR man!” all of us acting scared and confused, while in discord we were calm and collective and had a plan that was for one person to play the bait and be ready to parry his ass off while the other three of us got out our miniguns and waited. The Predator jumped in and took the bait and got his face shot off faster than he could arm his bomb. Free, easy pristine capture. If anything, that was the first time I ever thought the in-game comms were useful and it was to misdirect the predator, not to communicate with each other.
That’s probably why people don’t really use their mics. I hear people trying to use them and just ignore them, pretend I don’t have a mic, so that they’ll stop because all they can possibly do is give us away… There’s nothing they could possibly say that I need to know. Just use spotting, your comms wheel, know your role, stay mudded and stick together. Any halfway decent FT player will do all that without being told.
Another trick we’ve found is to not spot the pred directly even when you see him, because he gets a big “SPOTTED” message on screen and then they know to run and reposition. So we’ll use external comms and spot the branch or rooftop under his feet instead and then coordinate our fire to light him up while he’s still confident we don’t see him. Soon as you see the green blood, you know where to aim. You get a lot more rounds in the predator that way, and can force a retreat for a heal sooner than by spotting him directly (because then he’ll just try to run/reposition).
I love when I get a match as the predator and the dumb FT don’t realize that I can hear them while they continuously announce their plans to me as if they’re using a private radio channel. I mean, it’s more fun sure, but only because I’ll be laughing my ass off while they also tell me their plan and give me feedback that helps me hunt them even more efficiently.
“He’s over there, in the trees!” Yeah, thanks, now I’ll just reposition.
“Get your knives out!” Thanks again, plasma barrage incoming.
“He’s on the roof!” Thanks, now I’m on a different roof 50 meters away and here’s some arrows for you.

They really need to add team communication aside for the current one (its still fun to talk to the pred). In the movie the predator could hear the soldiers but he could not understand shit.

im pretty sure he understood fine, if you look at the context of what lines he repeated.
Yeah realistically, we would all have on/in ear protection or the only thing we would would hear is ringing for the next hour after the first round went off near our heads from a shouldered rifle.
Movies and games don’t really address it much, but soldiers and SWAT team members typically can’t hear more than about 3-8% of what’s going on around them because they’re wearing shooting muffs or in-ear plugs with radios built-in.
you should be perm banned from the game
There should be a “looking for group” option where you can have people join in, see if they have a mic, etc. and vet them before you start the match.
Hold on a minute there. If it’s a short detour, then that’s ok. If the veritanium is north and the objective is northeast, then they’ll just be a couple seconds late. Now if they’re tearing each place apart or running halfway across the map and abandoning the team completely, then that’s a problem.

those that play like that will learn or dwindle from the game. there are still people buying the game today and tomorrow etc and first time in game. they probably think its COD and u just kill stuff alone like rambo.
