Since when are predators archers anyways?
They are hunters. Hunters use the tools that fit best for a situation.

Yautja are hunters by nature and base their entire culture around it. They primarily use seemingly primitive weapon designs boosted by advance technology.
While I dont believe bow has been used in canon as of yet, it perfectly matches what their existing gear.

On the face of it its a cool idea. Problem is how easy Fireteam can spot and track the pred makes plasma cannon often a liability over the bow.
Since when are Predators Discus athletes, since when were Predators masters of swordmanship, Since when were Predators masters of the staff, Since when were Predators cavemen with clubs.
This is all nonsense. Predators are nomadic space alien hunters which use high tech tribal weaponry I dont think you need much more of an explanation then that. This thread is awful.

They are movie and comic book characters.
Don’t try and apply realistic concepts to a completely fictional thing.
It’s literally a big alien with face claws, dreads, and armor in which it climbs trees and hunts humans for fun.
Not too realistic… so I think it’s an anything goes kind of thing…
Just my two cents though. Please don’t rebuttal and send me a paragraph explaining as to why my comments about a fictional alien are wrong… I really don’t want that.

Humanoid species are well known for adaptation, Yautja are a humanoid species, and most humanoid species we’re aware of on earth at least, have utilized the bow in some capacity, because bows make logical sense, Torque and spring power utilized to deliver a projectile.
It’s not exactly outside the realm of possibility for Yautja to use a bow, in fact, it fits quite well, this is a species that literally utilizes bladed close combat weaponry such as swords, glaives, spears, and wristblades, and you’re going to complain about a bow of all things, one of the most logical early starting points for delivering a projectile beyond a slingshot?
Stop, think, use your head instead of simply reacting. and maybe do a little research into historical uses for the bow before you discount this as plasuable.

Oi fuckwit guess what. Hunters like to be stealthy. That’s why he has a cloak. The caster is really loud. So use a quiet ranged weapon. Oh wait a bow has all those qualities. Also since it’s in the game its fucking canon you absolute imbecile

I have thought about that as well. The bow fits the predator mythos for a few reasons. First, it’s self powered by drawing the string. Second, the bolts are reusable, like the spear and the disk. Finally, it’s stealthy, fits right in with stalking and cloaking.
While some people might not like this, if you go with the even further extended lore, and we assume that the Engineer’s created all of “humanoid” life across the stars, by looking at humanity, you can make the assumption that any humanoid creature would eventually come to understand the logic and mathmatic’s regarding the bow and it’s usefulness as a weapon.
Given it seems all groups who are derived from the Engineer’s experiments tend to follow basic enough human traits, learning to create clothes, culture, art, and utility.

Think about the predators way back when they never had the tech they where they more premative and would for sure use archery, they respect there ancestors and for sure would keep there old ancestors weapons

You need some variant in gameplay instead of literally following what you only saw in a movie. Also gives room to explore new ideas that can tie in the lore reasonably. The fact that this has to be explained to you is silly since every single movie based game since the beginning of gaming doesn’t completely adapt the entire movie scene for scene either.
