Plasma-caster needs auto-aiming like in AVP games, so it will be sense to use it. But now it’s demasking your position and wasting your energy with a worst chance to hit a target and make worst damage than a bow. Also it needs to make greatly damage while direct hit. And what’s a problem with a bow? Just think about covering and from which side pred is shooting. And be thankful that predator using bow, but not berserker with spear. If predator playing cats and mouses everybody gets lots of points, if he kills (or killed) at first minutes - everybody gets 2-3k and less.

I think you are not really have any real knowledge of subject. Can you please stop speak about things you have no idea about. And thermal for night operation when temperature is dropping and place is wide open and to counter visual camo. Thermal visor blocked by any solid object including glass. Human in full suit(with mask) of solid materal, that’s won’t transfers heat from owner to itself, are invisible to thermal visor. When temp of human body and enviroment are same thermal visor are blind. Most often users of thermal scopes are civilian hunters for night hunt. One good flame source is enought to make thermal vision dead crap. Stop looking ancient combat movies and check real facts before you start promote stupid things like that.
Or… if you still into movies look predator 2 at least. TV must be calibrated each 2-3 mins to work properly.

You are so tense as if we were discussing a scientific paper on the topic of the propagation of heat rays. Relax dude this is just a fantastic game forum! In general, the predator’s visor is alien and may have the function of auto calibration. ;)

Before Blain was hit with the Plasma Caster, he was hit by something different. Looking at this frame to frame, it looks like a dart. Some people say they didn’t add VFX and it’s supposed to be a plasma bolt. Most likely it’s some left-over from the old creature and they just kept it in the movie.

Now, we could say MAYBE it was an arrow shot with a bow. Since we never see it again, it might have been his only one left. Who knows. Bows are fine. New stuff is good, if it fits and expands the lore in a way it feels natural and “right”.

I always think about this scene… because yeah it’s an odd shot and an odd situation. and when I saw the bow announced, I kinda just had that in my mind as what Jungle Hunter used to hit Blane initially.

I know other media and games have it but the Bow seems more natural and honorable for a warrior-hunter than the caster pistol or even the plasma caster. Plasma that can instantly burn through anything doesn’t seem very sporting. Like hunting deer with a rocket launcher.

Also I prefer melee to ranged myself but even I have to admit the Bow is really fun to use, lol.

But see, you make a good point. Why does he have the club? Just because some comic said he did? Or the plasma pistol, just appeared in the avp games?
So what’s different with the bow appearing here? If anything, a bow makes more sense for their culture than a plasma pistol.

I’m a fan of the plasma pistol myself I can shoot them when my stamina runs out from my elder sword At close range or I can hit them from a medium distance with it if I’m a long ways away I use the sholder caster
