I play both sides. I’ve seen too many games won by the slam alone. It does too much damage for the amount of skill required to pull it off. I don’t know what the aoe range of the slam is. But it is huge. And does a ton of damage with no draw back. I think the devs used to know this, hence why they gave it a long animation after slamming. But besides the combistick, no other weapon really has a CD after slamming. Maybe make it into a utility ability or something. But right now, it’s like a bomb going off.

It’s really not, especially because it’s easily punished and a single object can completely mess your leap.

Alternatively give pred a grenade launcher so I can “skillfully” safely lob it into a building instead without being locked down on a rooftop thx
Curious on OP’s reasoning as to why the devs buffed slam and gave it a stun affect if the numbers said it was apparently so strong and low skill with no drawbacks. I dont think there’s any other animation capable of getting you killed that easily other than long claiming with another FT nearby.

Make sure the grenade launcher is plasma and consistent with the tech.
Then I can lob them on the roof for the same affect as a slam and eat piggies.
I agree on some extent but if you guys weren’t camping inna house and I go for a slam in the open not fully hitting half of you I will it second wind right away after unless the team has no accuracy me personaly I rarely slam if I have no heals and the ft already had me hit second wind and there all full health yes I will but that never happens a lot of ppl run a slam build but the FT should be able to adapt to it just don’t stand still or camp inna building and it gonna be fine
I think a lot of people think when i say OP. I’m talking about the combinations you can pull off are way too strong. I’m talking in a tactical way. Lets say a Pred downs a FT member. It makes it almost impossible to pick up the downed guy. I’m all for the Pred being a bit OP than the FT members. But making something so easy to use, do so much is broken. I’ve seen Predators play horrible the entire match. Then they start slamming. And it by itself wins them the game. That’s broken.
You mean like, throwing two bear traps at the downed guy? Or throwing the combistick? Or castering the downed guy? Or shooting the down guy with a bow? Or hell just downing the guy repeatedly while he’s still trying to get up? Of all those slam is probably the easiest to punish.
It’s a DBD situation where instead of complaining about the killer “camping the rez” its better to just leave the person while the pred is watching them bleed out.
This is why tankier classes are outright better because a stray bow shot doesn’t take them out of the game at half hp. Once you get downed your game is potentially over unless pred was forced to retreat and heal. Typically if you’re downed you’re going to get everyone else killed trying to save you.
It’s a trap. If you cannot cover the revive then don’t go for it.

Isn’t that almost exactly what a fully charged plasma caster already does? Sizeable aoe and good damage at full charge. Already good for rooting out building campers

With an optional roll into a melee attack for style? I would also sign up for that I think!
Has to be shot into doorways so funnels you into the fireteams line of sight so they can just peek the doorways and shoot at the laser in an eternal stalemate depending on how big the room is. If there were more windows sure but thats not the case.
Not even considering that most of the hiding happens at backwater under the docks where they just crouch in the crawlspaces/bridges/stairways to be free from pressure for however long they see fit or just run down the clock and wait to shoot at the predators knees.
