Sometimes when I am using my slam attack the attack will just not work on impact. Itl just stop just before I hit the ground.

I wasnt using it back to back. It happened the first time I used it. I have got 100s of hours in this game believe me I know how slam and overloaded work.
I have had it do that from time to time as well. Not very often though.
I thought maybe there was a requirement for minimum energy level or minimum distance but I have not been able to reliability reproduce it.
Could just be a bug unless anyone else has some science to share?

Theres no minimum requirement of energy as long as you are not overloaded. Iv had this glitch happen to me at full energy as well. No idea how to replicate it it seems completely random.
If you get hit when you are in the slam animation it cancels the slam.
There a video showcasing this?
I could have sworn that it actually tells you this somewhere in game maybe the tutorial maybe the extra “playing as predator” or i saw it multiple times somewhere maybe a stream. But its 100% confirmed & tested that dealing a certain amount of damage cancels the slam.

def a bug, ive done slam with full energy bar and soon as i hit the ground nothing happened… all i did was look like a jackass to the FT trying to imitate a hulk smash without the crater.

If you get shot before landing it’ll cancel the slam.

Though I have had this happen while not taking damage. A few random claw attacks and charged plasma shots seemed to fix it, but I have been unable to reproduce it.
You let go of the slam button before you hit the ground.
