Smart Disc return bug

If you call your Smart Disc back as soon as it hits an obstacle it will start flying in a straight line towards where your character stood the moment you pressed the button. If you move out of the way it will keep flying in a straight line and slide along smoother environmental details and objects until it gets trapped in a crevice or anything else that might block it from keep moving.

When this phenomenon happens and the Smart Disc has finally stopped somewhere on the map then you can’t ADS and throw another Smart Disc, you’re forced to go find it and pick up the one that bugged out first.
I could switch over to other weapons and equipment but i couldn’t attack or use any of the other stuff i carried while the bugged Smart Disc was still out on the map.

It may seem stupid, but it’s hard to recreate alone in a Private Match with 0ms, but when i test this in Public Hunt Matches with 4ms or higher it’s easy to recreate.

It happens a lot on PS4 pro as well.

It’s kinda hard to tell what’s happening in your video. I’ve used the disc quite a few times and haven’t experienced any anomalies.

Are you saying that it doesn’t return or that it flys off in a different direction?

I don’t know how i can show it more clearly in a videoclip or describe it in a text to make you understand what’s happening, i think it’s very clear.

I throw the disc, i call it back the moment it hits an obstacle. You hear the sound of the disc hitting the obstacle but it starts moving back towards me. When i move out of the way then the disc does not follow me, instead it keeps travelling in a straight line until it gets stuck somewhere.

This sounds so complex that the bug itself can be seen, if done right, as a feature.

Imagine how cool would be for the Hunter to throw the smartdisc, it gets stuck somewhere in the environment, and as the Hunter leaps into battle and attacks melee left and right, would be awesome for the disk to actually bounce from the environment(surrounding assets/objects) like a pinball in a pinball table and as you dodge it(during fight movement) you recall it for change of course and another round of recall and another bounce, and again and again. Should be fun to have a few charges as you do that. Would do great as a AoS damage.
