Honestly, these grenades are almost a rare thing to use. They rarely prove to me that they are useful in combat asides from create a diversion. and even still it is rare to create a diversion at the chopper/ or at the body of a dead predator.
I think that people use them to seem cool without knowing the disadvantages. It only messes with your vision. The Predator can just use thermal to see through the smoke. I actually won a couple of games because they used smoke and couldn’t see me in time.
sadly that clip doesn’t show if the red icon appears during a thermal + smoke so i can’t believe your statement
as the red icon appeared when the FT was out of his smoke +thermal regardless if the predator was in it
and also the speed at which the red icon appears is based on how many times you scanned them
so by using both your taking a bet predator hasn’t bothered to scan the FT which
in my time playing the predator i never waste my time doing that
I like the smoke effects as far as visuals go. The real life applications of smoke are undeniable. Implementing smoke as a useful game mechanic in close quarters combat is difficult! I think smoke as implemented in this game so far is more detrimental to FT than predator.
Okay, sorry if you feel I did not read the OP. My train of thought is that you are advising to only use smoke against the Predator.
Since smoke is countered by the bio mask, smoke against the Predator is barely an inconvenience. To even have it be a factor, FT pretty much needs to also pair it with thermal.
So I present evidence that even in a cloud of smoke and thermal, the FT is still not safe from the Predator. Leading to the logical deduction that both have very limited use cases and probably hinder the FT more than the Predator.
Which I think supports your advice in the OP indirectly by pointing out that smoke is not only a hindrance to the FT, it is not much of a hindrance to the Predator. So using smoke at all (vs NPC or vs Predator) is probably doing yourself more harm than good.
