They could use a QoL change. Make them thicker, and obscures vision for everyone. Marking for fireteam and predator is disabled. AI cannot see you either. Right now the clouds are pretty minimal.
Smoke grenades
To piggy back but argue differently. Why even have them? Predator see’s right through it in thermal.
It obscures precious vision by FT and Pred can thermal you out.
There is a thermal decoy that is the thermal “smoke” grenade but the smoke grenade is just a dead option to me. Like no incentive for it when I see it.
I believe the intended purpose is to break line of sight with the ai while going for revives, or interacting with things. Problem is, the ai isnt scary enough to really every be a threat to make you need those Smokes

I love the smoke grenade, as a FT member it doesn’t really effect you but the predator can’t see through it for shit without thermal. I like to run the thermal jammers and smoke grenades so when we get to exfil you can create a cloud of complete invisibility for the predator- really effective at preventing a pred from picking at you with the plasma caster

I mean, kinda an obvious tactic. But to pull it off you do need to sacrifice some gear slots. Well worth it though if your team can make it to the extract.

They ain’t going to make it to the second objective, exfil or chopper extract… hell, you may as well cancel your Disneyland plans while you’re at it when you play against my Predator.

The smoke grenades don’t affect the AI at all. I have tried this. Now the only way to use an effective smoke screen against predator is if you have smokes and thermals then its very useful. But they definitely need to fix AI aimboting through the smoke because they always know where you are in that crap.

Not all preds play the same. And not all preds have vision on 24/7. Also when the mask is off then you can say the thermal grenades are useless.
Make smokes disable marking for both parties and the ai needs to find you in it. While also making the clouds thicker.
Never said thermal flares were useless.
Same principle when the predator doesn’t use IR vs smokes.
To be harsh is its useless, to be utiltilitarian, its part of your arsenal. Use it the way you aught to.
Thinking outside the box makes it useful. THere are probably plenty of imaginary ways to use it.
You got 25% chance of success but then you toss it and that literally takes 2 seconds.
But when you have your effects set to Medium and it fizzles up like a cigarette does…then its time for a patch update!
