Sniper rifles are the real issue

The sniper rifles were always the problem with balance.

Illfonic buffed the hunter and scout against bullet damage. However, most guns reduce in damage at range. For example, at 80m the gosl-r does 60% of point blank damage, that is 26 hits increased to 44 hits to kill a hunter at 80m.

However, sniper rifles don’t lose any damage over range. That’s why players think that pc fireteams are tearing them apart.

Solution:
-add a graded 30% damage drop off to all sniper rifles ending at 80m.
-reduce, predator health by 15% across the board.
-reduce total number of arrows and nets by 50%

How does this fix the current meta?

Right now all predator melee is too strong, only because the predator has too much health, but snipers are too strong if you only nerf the predator health. Also, the predator can spam arrows and nets without worrying about accuracy.

With the prior recommended change, hunts will have a progression, from ranged attacks when the predator can use range and tank some damage to reduce the health and number of fireteam members, and after they have expended their ammo, come in for the melee finish, or melee based predators will actually need to display skill to use effective ambush hit and run techniques to win that way.

To be clear, I love this game and just want to see it succeed, and these changes will ensure that everybody has fun, FT or predator.

why do we calling a weapon sniper ? yes hitting well i have exp on that as hunter some of ppls even sick but i suppose its not a big deal i can hit all over map with my energy ball and i did on train map (someone was downed u should have see :D ) anyway for hunter %50 less ammo ? dont make me laugh sometime not even enough (depends game) reduce health ? sigh… never ends… u new or dont read to patches u better start checking each one of them especialy when they realese a new one…

Your post is garbage… and toxic and needs to be deleted. There are no issues on either side… your just bad. The game is more balanced than ever. Snipers don’t do that much dmg and your banter and suggestions are bad… I am an experienced and one of the top players and can vouch as an avid ft sniper and predator hunter that once the sniper is found you can exploit them fast. I don’t know how you think the sniper is op when there are far more op fire-team weapons. UMP shotguns mag pistol. You need to realize that the current meta is fine attm and you crying about being bad doesn’t help any thing. 15 percent hp drop and lower sniper dmg… whats the difference at that point? Logically speaking a rifle round 50 cal hitting you at 800 m will do more dmg than at 50 m due to bullet velocity ( slow down less penetration more bullet expansion=trauma) as i am an avid shooter. Your logic is shit and snipers hit harder cause the bullet slows down and less pass through. You need to calm down on your balance and except the game is fine the way it is. If any thing class specific weapons… you need to post your ideas in search before making a post. There are many post on balance far better than this.

Bro you lost any credibility when you said spam arrows.
But let’s go with that logic then ok?

So given how fast bullet spam can burn through pred, I think every gun should have a cool down of 7 seconds, and no more than 3 rounds clips, for any gun.

This bullet spam needs to stop.

Lol fireteam that just switches to knife for parry turns all melee into suicide for the predator what are you talking about? Even if they’re already low and spin around to block one hit that throws everything out the window. A single hit gets parried he gets shot by multiple people during the stun and second winds even if they’re on console.

Also why are you talking about range even being relevant if “melee is too strong”

The actual solution to snipers is to just add bullet drop like any other modern fps. Ranged damage dropoff is currently barely seconds of a difference in dps so thats largely irrelevant vs four people.
