What if they added in a Outro cinematic in place of yelling at the red skull where your Predator bloods him/herself with a severed Xeno Digit! I would love that! And really you could keep the same gameplay just add different locations and “missions” even different AI enemies other than Xenos depending on the location or even Planet? Because Predators hunt all over the galaxies why not show that and Humans are always where they shouldn’t be and nothing says this game HAS to be in 2025 we could also have time periods from the past like 1600s-1800s…I’m doing it again…getting ahead of myself…sorry

I’m fine with references and such. Trophies or maybe an armour style. After all Predator 2 was the cause of the crossover in the first place and unfortunately The Predator references the AVP movie.
Isolation is only a couple years old and Colonial Marines is seven I think. Having the predator fight aliens will make this an Alien Versus Predator game, even if they don’t name it so.
The problem is that ft is playable, if they add xenos they would have to be playable, also I read recently, I think on instagram that the new map and mode add new mechanics to both pred and ft, in short, we will not have xenos in my opinion
I would say that no it is not fair. This game is a representation of the original Predator movie. Besides the couple animal bones, he’s hunting humans.
And yet again, the crossover universe is separate from the Predator universe. Just because some media from AVP have their predators needing to kill a xenomorph to become blooded doesn’t mean thats all there is to it. Even inside AVP, its not always a thing. There is plenty of Predator stuff that never even brings up Xenos because its its own franchise that doesn’t need to parasitize off of another to be relevant.
And here is a list of Predator games where you get to play as the predator.

The rest were older, only played as the main movie character, and were either side scrollers or rails shooters.
The first real video game for the Predator franchise was Concrete Jungle, The next was Hunting Grounds.

I really hope the new mode is indeed “x team preds” vs "y many FT, maybe even with 3 factions, the third being another human squad or…bad bloods. Anything else I can think of, e.g. solo mode, “capture the flag” type, 1v1, PvE etc…I don’t think I would prefer that over the main one
Ya know how not happy I’d be if a predator just came out of a vent when I was playing alien isolation? That’s why we don’t want it. Tonally they are completely different the only reason everyone just assumes they should go together was the what if idea of avp. They shine more when apart cause they can both actually be what there respective franchise intended them to be

There is and will always be avp games for that alien brawler type of atmosphere. This one is an attempt to make a Predator product, it’s good that it stays this way.

I don’t see Xenos taking the spotlight away from Predator, I see them a prey. I see the potential boost to our player base and an opportunity to co-opt the fans of that franchise.
I also think I should comment on the AVP games as they keep coming up. The AVP movies are part of the Predator canon, they both take place in modern day and make the Predators main characters. Separately there’s the AVP games that aren’t as linked to the Predator canon, they are more closely aligned with the Aliens universe. It all happens in the future with colonial marines and aliens as playable characters.
I don’t think Aliens need to be playable to introduce them as prey, I’m also not against one day adding modes where they are playable but feel it should happen in stages, so the devs can define things how they want. I’d want them first as strictly a modifier on the match or a mode for solo’ing. Possibly a way for Pred’s to play offline and have a win condition when playing a solo PM (or with friends).
The canon the devs have access too (from my understanding) is…
Predator, Predator 2, AVP, AVPR, Predators, The Predators. The novel Stalking Shadows and any licences they have deals for from NECA.
Two of the 6 movies have Aliens, some of the fan’s favourite characters are from those movies. The first AVP has the potential to give us at least two incredible maps, The whaling station and the temple . Requiem could give us one hell of a forest map, possible even a post movie map showing us the military instillation that has likely been constructed on the edge of the safe zone. I for one think it would be interesting to find out the consequences for blowing up a town, or rather the lack of consequences.
I really do understand why Aliens feel like they take something away from the Predator universe but I don’t agree with it, I don’t have the same feeling.
I see nothing but an opportunity to expand the gameplay and lore, even fixing some small problems along the way. I’d be happy with other alien lifeforms to hunt. I’m going to bug till I can fight and kill a mutant T-Rex but to me the FHer’s, Xeno’s and Queens are just already developed prey, the devs don’t need to waste any time explaining them.
I can’t change how you feel, to get back to that but I think if you’re open to it, you can see why they could be good for us as they provide quick ways to expand both audience and content. You can do at least a half dozen different modes with Xeno’s, things that don’t require you to build a whole new alien each time. They give us the opportunity to have events and don’t have to be the main focus of Hunting Grounds.
But that’s exactly what’s going to happen. If people are only buying the game for the xenos, that’s literally them stealing the spotlight.
The problem with lumping AVP movies in with predator movies is that they have their own lore. Nothing shows this off more than Predator 2. In AVP, humans mean nothing to them, worthless hosts for better prey, warm up for the real hunt. They kill a xeno, mark themselves with their blood and their mask, and then continue the journey to earn their plasma caster. In Predator 2, humans are so much fun to hunt, there are more human trophies and Xeno. None, zero, zip of the Predators in the clan have blooded marks, despite one being an elder, and having a single xeno trophy among them. And our unblooded teenager is using a plasma caster. Even the two predator movies after AVP ignore AVP lore. Just because they all use the Predator as the main characters, doesn’t make them the same universe. Easter eggs don’t count. (All the Batman movies feature Bruce Wayne as the main character, and I doubt anyone will consider them the same universe.)
Bringing Xenos in will be the death of Hunt mode completely. More people moving to predator and more people DCing until they get a xeno match. A new mode with guaranteed xenos, or worse yet playable, will demolish the spirit of the game.
All those movie contain predators that you can pull out and use their stuff in game, without breaking the point of the game.
The 2 movies in the crossover universe have aliens, correct. Only the requiem map has the possibility of happening.
I see where you are coming from, and I disagree whole heartedly. There is just more to predator lore that can be explored than xenos.
It will just shift gameplay, not expand it, because it will salt and burn the existing gameplay. And it limits the lore back to the well trod AVP stuff instead of the basically untouched Predator stuff. Something that deserves to be expanded upon.
Making Batman or the Terminator FT classes are also another way to expand audiences and content. Batman and Terminator are currently more popular than Alien, and they’ve had their own crossovers with Predator. Any modes with xenos will erase the player base for the existing modes and events will just bring in an influx of players who will leave when they can’t play xenos anymore, and might not come back for the next event. The gameplay is one giant homage to the original Predator movie. See everything through than lens and tell me Xenos are a good idea.

They added the xeno skull in Predator 2 because they thought it would be a nice nod or Easter egg to the Dark Horse comic, that came out before Pred 2 in the 90’s. The making of Predator 2 explains the reasoning why they added the Alien skull which is pretty cool. So technically, Aliens in Predator are canon.

I am a fan of alien and predator and this game does not need xenos, it is more if you only add non-playable xenos like bait (alien 2) no alien fan will be happy or will return, alien needs its own mode or its own game, with completely new mechanics and a horror style, the game last year would be a good example of mechanics to play as an alien, the survivors flee while blocking areas and activating others to escape the alien, who stalks them and can kill them with a single blow from a hiding place, The original movie would be very alien and I’m sure this game can’t do this now or in the near future, so I think this game shouldn’t have xenos, sorry for my bad English

The comic came out a couple months before the movie, well into production. The easter egg is just that, not some quasi religious icon AVP turned them into. At the very most, it was, “This was a neat thing to hunt.” And they moved on, as seen by the movie taking place in LA, not some xeno hive.
And that right there is why I still want them.
