But the Alien as a franchise was never owned by Scott & Scott Free Productions. Just because the Company is owned by Disney does not mean that the Company owns the Franchise. If I own a refrigerator and a washing machine, it does not mean that the washing machine owns a refrigerator. The Alien was invented independently of Scott Free Productions and the Foxes owned the Alien independently of Scott Free Productions.

Agree & the first was co-produced by several studios including his. But all things considered, its him shepherding Alien through the studio, he envisioned the look, he brought it to life. Film companies go through him specifically, they try to tie things in to his sequel trilogy. He didn’t come up with every single iconic element that we now remember as Alien, but he did the heavy lifting. Geiger and the writers can come up with an idea, mock it up and then go off and have tea. Ridley will forever be tied to those movies though & when he made the first and what we’re getting now its his final call, & his head on the block if things went badly. They are stuck following whatever scott’s doing because he can pull the franchise in any direction without studio interference.
Everyone knows these directors whose early success puts them in a position where they don’t have to answer to anybody and their films suffer for that fact.
to stay on topic though, alien’s shepherded hard. Preds issue is it gets no shepherding at all & theres little chance the original scriptwriters win that fight with disney.
They could. While they were alive. And they did it without Scott, starting with the second film and ending with the Requiem. The fact that Scott and his company are involved in the franchise now says nothing about owning it. If Disney wants to make a new movie without Scott, they will do it. Now they are clinging to Scott, because this, despite Prometheus and the Covenant, is still a significant name in the franchise and cinema in principle. Scott is involved in the new series, yes, but in fact he is a person on the level of Zack Snyder for the current DC film universe. He is listed as a producer and one of the authors of the concept, but WB has the right to do anything without his participation (and they do, by the way). Scott was also the producer of Bladerunner 2049, however, it is still the property of WB.
Most likely, they will just agree and that’s it. With an infinite amount of money for Disney, this is not a problem.
It is a fact that Scott and his company are now more preferable to work with an Alien. I do not argue with this. However, no one has the OBLIGATION to consider him in any matter.
If we’re being realistic, they’re never going to not cling to Scott so long as he’s breathing. They’ll go make an aliens FT & colonial marines game, but we all know it’ll never be touched in his films and these are film franchises. He has all the creative control, no one is going to tell him no, infact they go to him and ask for his alien blessing, its his word. Compare that to the amount of studio interference pred gets hit with.
For all the gripes with Scott, people are forgetting Prometheus is like what, the second most financially successful film in the series after Aliens? And every film (including the AvP spinoffs) released between them made less money that its predecessor.

Well, now Disney is rumored to be developing a series on an Alien and a film on a Predator with the aim of eventually bringing it to a new crossover movie version. And if that’s true, then Scott won’t be able to say no to them here either. We’ll see if Disney has enough balls for this.
Scott’s name is on it and for all intents and purposes it sounds like they’re either tying it to blade runner or its another 90% android-focused alien work.
Aliens are getting more android stuff and preds are getting retconned to their earliest visit being comanche indian era.

because like they have different biology in some cases but i guess the fact that they’re supposedly the inhabitants of yautja prime in the hish-lore could donk up some normal yautja lore

That’s basically the confusing part we know at some point hish were a thing as Alpha led the “Hish” uprising though whether or not that was just their name like how we call them Yautja but they don’t respond to such a thing as if not knowing that’s what they are called
or whether or not they are some kind of subspecies or another race of yautja is unclear

novel seemed like it was aiming to change everything anyways with the addition of kill glands and preds genderswapping with their jurassic park frog DNA. no one’s really elaborated on anything besides the name yet.
Of what i have understood there is two cannon :
the first and more recent one, the damn Hish being a quadrupal species living on their planet primitive as fuck and got get by the amengi and were evolveld and modified from there as a slave race and that eventualy rebelled against the amengi and killed them all expect for a few that they enslaved until they rebelled under the alpha predator.
The second and older is that Hish were already a small but growing space empire who did merciless campaign of conquest on primitive race etc who add a huge problem of control of themself due to a primitive organ named the kill gland who keep sending them into a bloodllusty rage each time they didn"t fight for a while also they were smaller than yautja and less smart.
like for the first one they got there ass kicked by the amengi and enslaved just like the first one for sport and labors. this time however the Hish during their time in captivity gived birth to the equivalent of the Alpha predator who turned the tide by being bigger, smarter and stronger than the normal Hish, he was an Proto-yautja who leaded the rebelion and free is people. since them the Yautja race have become the race of hunter we know, however the Hish still exist, tho being a minorities now, as a species and still live by the same rule of conquest they once believed in. however the council of ancient keep a tight leash around their neck for avoid any BS genocide or stupid wars.
I treated them as somewhat canon, just a race of different beings that happen to evolve very similarly is all. I don’t like them…at all…😅
