So… is Aliens: fireteam all that and a bag of chips?

As long as it is not another pay to win game…
Oh, but we’re talking about an EA game… Nevermind.

idk about that thier 2 different experiences, ill play alien for a while but when i wanna play PvP ill jump to PHG since aliens is only PvE. I think maybe others will do the same mainly cause of the PvP and PvE differences imo.

James Cameron is enjoying it.

Don’t expect a AAA experience for AA money and you’ll have fun.

It’s not all that and a bag of chips but it’s definitely a good chunk of that with a few chips on the side.

Also, it’s not PHG.

Remember this forum is not a super positive place. I dunno if some of these guys are playing the same game I am but it’s certainly not bad. Not amazing either. A middle of the road, fun coop shooter that looks nice, runs well and seems to have a nice progression system. Do your own thing but imo its a fun game. Even if it only stays fun for a few weeks that’s ok. There’s 4 big content drops in year 1.

I agree with you, but still illfonic have to put the batteries to phg

Ya done gud sir

Ya done gud

Seeing a lot of people claiming it’s boring or uninterested after playing for less than an hour/two missions. Either you have too high of expectations or you need to not be so quick to judge. You’re not even done with the tutorial campaign and you’re getting bored? That’s like a child playing with an appropriately sized electric car for them to ride around in the back yard for a few minutes and then asking their parents if they got them anything else. I mean, seriously? It’s Cold Iron’s first game and they’re not a AAA company. For what it’s worth, it’s a solid game with more replayability than this game, unless you get your satisfaction from competitive PVP. Which is alright, you got your tastes. But if you’re making frowny faces and huffing and puffing about how you’re bored with it after less than an hour of play, don’t blame the devs. It’s a fairly budgeted horde shooter set in the Aliens universe, plays most like World War Z and developed by a small team of 40 people. Once again, I think they did a good job with the tools at their disposal.

I prefer pvp. This is more just a casual game to shoot the shit with your friends.

It definitely is. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. But hey. We like what we like.

Some people decided they hated it before playing it. Some hate it despite not playing it at all. If you start something with that mindset you’ll definitely not have fun. I totally respect people’s game preferences but it’s hard when you don’t give something a fair shake. Try it with anything, game, movie, book etc. Start with hate and that’s what you’ll get out of it.

It’s launch day and it’s already got more content, looks and runs better than PHG despite it’s one year plus worth of updates. I get the hate if it’s a full price game like Ratchet and Clank, but it’s half the price and will have 4 major updates (maps/modes) in year one.

Just wish it had modders pumping out new campaigns like they did in L4D.

And that’s ok. Again, everyone has their tastes and if it ain’t your thing, at least you tried something new. Gotta keep an open mind

It WAS very fun. Then we reached campaign 3. The frames drop worse than even hunting grounds.

Then you teach campaign 4… it’s UNPLAYABLE. like atrocious frame drops and you literally just teleport around the map. And enemies who have quick time events when they leap on you, the quick time events just don’t pop up. So you just die

What did you expect at insane difficulty? 😁

It has the same issue with ai spawing out of thin air too

Got my first salty team, these guys left me to handle a swarm and ran off to the objective only to get downed by another swarm and blame me for sticking behind to fend off both.

Lol. Is there a place for Phantasma LV-426 in this game?

Whoever says is boring is probably playing in casual difficulty with AI bots that play very OP.

The gameplay is repetitive… of course… is like L4D where you fight hordes of zombies, but instead you fight hordes of aliens. Doom games are also repetitive and are still great games.

The scenery is beautiful and for any hardcore fan of the franchise, this is a must.

I’m more of an Aliens fan than Predator so… maybe my opinion is biased. But I liked the game.

Few bugs here and there but not surprising for a $40 game at launch

looks like another horde shooter, itd be awesome if it had an invasion mode where you could invade a match as a xeno
