Good documentary (I’m half way through). It’s terrible what were doing to the ecosystem. That being said, i still think that barring failure if reproduction, nuclear war, deadly and contagious infection, natural disasters or mass anarchy, human ingenuity will find a way for itself to survive. That doesn’t make me feel better, but i think there’s more terrible things we can do and still sustain ourselves.

Also as sheets as China’s government is, if something terrible were to happen to the whole country, that could be catastrophic for humanity because they manufactore so many goods. Lol

@Thunder-Cats, Attenborough ain’t wrong about what’s happening to our forests but most of our oxygen comes from algae.
The palm oil forests are a major problem and destruction of biodiversity that comes with treating the planet like a factory, is definitely out of control.
Human’s only need about 40% of the surface area of the planet to produce enough food and goods to have 7 billion middle class people. Unfortunately the super rich control about 50% of all the wealth and still want more.

As for the thread in general, why shouldn’t the Swastika be banned from a video game. It’s their private property, not yours?

Useful idiot argument seeing as anyone who finished high school knows corporations aren’t people nor do the same laws apply. I’ll just assume things work differently in Canada.

The issue is corporations that want the benefits of being treated like a platform and still be able to censor and push their own narrative.

Either they are platforms in which case free speech applies, like on a privately owned town square, or they are a publisher (like a news paper) which means they can censor but also means they are responsible for all posts and can be sued over them.
They’re getting legal benefits akin to being a phone company if your phone company could also just cut your line or terminate your video call.

Free speech applies to the government, it doesn’t apply to corporations. Corporations, are people according to the law. You might want to go back to high school you seem to have missed quite a bit that’s common knowledge.
If you’re raging about them being excluded from being liable, write your Congress person. If it did change though, your political side would suffer far greater consequences. I mean, how’d starting free speech social media platforms go for the Republicans…… oh, they didn’t work out, well that’s a shame.

Antisemitism was honestly a global norm until after the war. WW2 literally had nothing to do with antisemitism but that’s not what we’re taught, hence the topic of censorship hiding facts to push a narrative or agenda.

No point in singling people out though, the US in general was on neutral terms with Nazi Germany. How do you figure free speech applies to the govt? Donald Trump passed a law that restricted any criticism of Israel by any govt entities and those receiving govt funding. That’s… the exact opposite of free speech, and it was cited as a means of curbing antisemitism in colleges given the increasing criticism of Israeli affairs. I tell my son often , never take what they tell you in school at face value , always take it in and then be open minded enough to look at the other side , there is two sides to every coin and usually history is a double edged sword .

After hitler didn’t russia plan on taking everything anyway? I was always of the opinion that schools were more like indoctrination to kids , the last few years fully convinced me it was correct . Teaching kids as young as 3 years old about sex education, telling them what sex acts were that most adults probably didn’t even know , they have been exposed for having drag Queens twerking to toddlers and teaching them how , telling kids gender isn’t male or female , alot of places over riding adults consent for kids to start hormone therapy , recently teaching them about white privilege , the list goes on .

Wasn’t there a teacher just caught owning an ANY AGE sex shop ? And he is on the school board? Even a teacher was just exposed for giving sixth grade kids cakes for gay pride , and a kid asked why can’t straight kids get a cake and the kid was verbally attacked ? Its no different to pulling up in a white van and offering sweets .

I was banned from reddit because I said BLM shouldn’t be targeting kids in video games , fortnite had a live event where they showed a live stream promoting BLM . Kids aren’t old or mature enough to form their own opinions and are very impressionable .
