Well again, we gotta ask ourselves what exactly we want the govt to control, or the culture. If 100 people say ‘we don’t like this group of 10, we’re gonna treat them shitty until they leave’ should we really be forcing those 100 people to accept the 10, who are only there because the 100 did so well with their own culture? Cuz thats where we’re at in western/euro/white nations at this point in history.

Funny that the right wingers always take the hint and leave, not wanting to give govt power, but the left will never take the social cues and beg the govt to work in their favor exclusively.

I’m not in the UK but I hear a lot about how the govt protects pedo gangs to curb racism… cuz the pedo gangs are overwhelmingly the same people who probably shouldn’t be there.

I get it. Democracy is a strange beast. Without limitatations in place, it threatens its own stability.

Still i feel like people in power don’t want change and minorities will always be underrepresented if those limitratins are in place. I’ll side with you for the sake of stability, but there has to be a more organic way for minories to feel represented than creating superficial pick me ups

Why though, is my point. Why pander to a minority in a place with set values and customs? Why challenge those values to appease a minority who don’t like it?

It’s like being invited to a party and acting like you’re the host when you get there. You’re lucky to be here in the first place, why push it to the point where everyone has to sit silently in the corner as you open the door to all your friends no one invited, and proced to have your own party in my house!?

This is where democracy fails, and will always fail. There will always be minorities in areas with set values and customs, and those values and customs should not be left up to a vote because demographics can always change.

…or be forced, as we see with a purposefully broken immigration system today.

To me it seems like its one of the central principal of USA. I feel like under wholly concervative values, minorities can only be integrated in but rarely represent themselves. Maybe that’s how it should be. It’s a bit conflicting to me.

For what its worth, it really wasn’t the central principle of the country at all. Like, maybe now but definitely not when it was founded. We’re a republic first and foremost and use the constitution as a means of law. Right now that constitution is useless because no one actually fought to protect it, we just voted ourselves into something completely different. Maybe for better maybe for worse, but when it started the idea was 100% not equal representation across the board. Mostly landowners and people who would actually be affected made up the voting class.

I agree though, it is conflicting because we do have hearts and don’t want to cause suffering. Unfortunately we need to consider if there’s nowhere on earth that wants to represent you without govt intervention, maybe you shouldn’t be represented at the level you are?

The constitution seems outdated I’m today’s world. It’s a nice idea, but it’s loosing it’s touch in practice. I think today more than ever it would make semse to amend it, but it’s harder than ever.

Right now you and people like you have ramped up govt control and censorship to push us into that corner and youre in full panic mode because people (the actual people, not the corporations and media) are starting to rise up again… the party is definitely coming to an end, comrade, and you can’t censor it away, you can’t pretend its not happening anymore. Well no because there really wasn’t one, not as we know it today.

I think the constitution could use an update but we really gotta be careful with exactly what we want to tolerate as a nation. This eternal conflict between the right and left is doomed, and that’s why democracy is flawed. Again, some things shouldn’t be left up to a vote.

Well I live in a democratic country and think it’s a fairly decent system. Certainly better than any form of authoritarianism, so I’m not a communist in the least. In relation to my countries politics, I’m a moderate Progressive.

I only get called commie by fascist fuck heads who are purposely misrepresenting any conflict that exist with those 2 extremes. They don’t believe in democracy, they’re literally the rot in the system.

I don’t have cable and don’t even watch very many movies anymore man, I read books. Certainly not an admin anywhere, I don’t engage in social media, excluding the forums for games I’m interested in.

Well your way happens to be the wrong way. You don’t want to engage in debate or the democratic process, you want to feel justified in attacking people. You’re pathetic dude.

People who argue we should have stopped at tolerance for any group, don’t really deserve tolerance shown to them. You’d strip people’s freedom to marry who they choose, while crowing about your own freedom to do so.

I do see an allure of a more authoritative government system in these times. Theres too much freedom around. Even concervatives are breaking away from their values a bit, just to be more relevant to the masses. I can see the need to protect core values. There is merit in being a progressive i think. I feel like any political change is do hard to come by that going it slow is demoralizing. But the things going on in US are too fast and need order.

I wish there’s was a better way to communicate between the two sides, without going into commie and fascist extremes. That puts a damper on any condersatiom where you want both sides to listen to each other. Gotta find middle ground. Can’t have itvall your way or the other way.

I want to attack people yet keep everyone safe by designating and protecting nations from outside influence cultural or political…

I’m sorry my guy but your freedom is limited to my culture. That’s where I believe govt should exist. Not to limit free speech and force a culture on a nation that continues to resist it.

The only way these far lefty politics ever fly is with subversion and manipulation of public perception. That’s how you know you’re wrong and history, however much you try to change, always comes to light.
