So I’m a pc player and I’ve encountered hacks occasionally, like very rarely ( 8 times out of 10 it will be a pc player but not always).
And i’m talking actual hacks (not net spam macros or insta fire macros).
So if you want to work out who’s shooting through walls etc make sure you record your game, and once you realise there’s an issue keep the scoreboard open. The player whose points keep going up while you are shot through a building/mountain etc. is the one using exploits.
then post the video.
the problem is the game is mostly client side (meaning that the pc/console tells the server what you are doing and where everyone else is in relation to you at a given point in time and the server assumes this is true. most exploitable but lowest ping way to run things), so any console or pc player can middle man the information and send information that the target was hit in line of sight (the server doesn’t calculate terrain etc. increases ping). The server assumes that the information it’s receiving is relative to the player which is why high ping players have an advantage in client side games (the low ping player sees the high ping player jump around the screen while the high ping player sees everything the low ping player is doing (even if delayed the high ping players client tells the server that the player was hit).
It’s not entirely client side as there are server controlled events (like the chopper).
record and post
