Some notes for the Fireteam

So, the new patch’s out.

It’s so far been given mixed results but, for the most part, many are pleased, but a noticeable number aren’t too thrilled with it, namely Fireteam mains.

For this, I guess, I want to say something. This is my opinion, so…y’know…put away the pitchforks, please.

Now you have to play as an actual Fireteam.

By this, I mean you all have to be more careful and play more strategically, being almost as meticulous as the Pred players had to be prior to the patch. Many of the FT players I’ve killed since this patch drop have…honestly done some astoundingly stupid stuff that, earlier, would have worked, like trying to chase the Pred down with knives or splitting up to pursue a Pred who’s healing. I even had someone last game who detonated a grenade atop himself to chance revealing me, only to be left near death from the attack.

So, my moral, is with these changes, the FT players need to plan and coordinate, instead of treating the game like CoD 4 on Recruit. More good than bad came with this patch, and while there’s plenty of bad,we can at least enjoy the fact that, now, both sides have to play smart to come out on top.

I think your opinion is fair. They been tell pred mains “Play smarter.” “Play Strategically” sense launch…

the nerve predator mains have is insane! we literally told you guys to do that and you guys just kept whining until you got what you wanted

To be fair, these changes help considerably. Not everyone can spend hours on end, perfectly honing their shots with the Plasmacaster, especially when sometimes it can just get stopped by leaves and other small things, therefore meaning Preds had to be in the right spot, every time, else they’d fail. This way, they don’t exclusively have to rely on that tactic, allowing them to diversify their approach should they want. I’m not a fan of the caster nerf, no, but, as I said to someone else, we got about 75% good and 25% bad. It’s a start, for the moment.

And, for the FT players, now they have to play safe, plan ahead, and stick close, and not…well do the stuff I mentioned earlier. Like all try to knife a Pred to death for shits and giggles.

we got about 50% bad and 50% good but predator mains don’t know that because they only play predator whereas people who play both know how bad the patch actually was and how much it was a handout to unprepared and unskilled predators

To be fair, the 50% even was because, in the beta, the combistick was initially unlocked and could easily clean up full teams, and in the full game, was set at Lvl42, and then recently got nerfed as well, further reducing its damage and speed.

I’m not here to argue on this, but perhaps with these changes, we can see some new and improved tactics on both sides, instead of the same old thing every time. Because, honestly, I’d get bored very swiftly if I had to sorely rely on the caster each and every time to have a chance at winning.
