Spotting 1.09 hotfix

What would YOU like to see in a spotting hotfix?

============

Personally I can clearly see this isn’t a game aiming at realism and has an arcady feel to it; Rainbow Six vs Predator this is not.

However, the spam spotting (mainly seems to be PC players) is making being a stealthy hunter next to impossible.

I would like to see either:

(A) No spotting 100% invisible Predator. Can only spot partially invisible predator (so when Pred is moving)

Or…

(B) No outline or exact position when 100% invisible, rather a ‘Billy’ confirmation that something is indeed over there…then you can spray your bullets to your hearts content in that direction. But at least you can’t see me through walls or follow me as I leap away.

This is part of game mechanics. If you cant handle this so play vs bots in private (they cant spot you). stop crying about lack of skill. pls.

I would with the eye alone and a marker on the compass. At the most only Spotting outline while predator is visible. I would settle for them testing different versions with us.

Hi DK12, thanks for the reply; however I’m actually pretty good as a Scout Pred main, and I can and do kill teams who spam spot. This is a point about the immersion of being a cloaked hunter who can attack out of nowhere.

Currently, when playing a spam spotting team (mostly made up of PC players) I have to content myself with quick hits and leaping away. This is fine, but it’s not the movie/hunter style that this game is going for. Spam spotting renders the cloak almost entirely ineffective.

There is no ‘spam spoting’. Just let you know. There is only spot after on visual contact. this is usual behavior for team based games. In other words you are spotted only after reveal yourself.

I don’t think the Predator itself should be outlined or highlighted after being spotted, but an icon should appear on the compass at the top of the screen. That’s enough for the FT, what we have now is slightly overkill.

In these types of matches I am constantly being spotted with no let up. Does your post mean I need to stand still for a second or two to be completely invisible? This is actually what I do, I try to leap to a new position and stand still but the spotting continues.

I take it you are a FT main, any pointers you could provide on this matter would be helpful (pun unintended).

I agree. Was unsure at first, but what you expressed her is exactly why I think it definitely needs a little tweak. Yesterday I reached full awareness of the isseue. Had a match as jh 87 (ranged build), vs 4x PC FT players. I’m lvl 80, and while not the best, I get my trophies pretty often. There was NOWHERE I could go without being spotted constantly and I mean CONSTANTLY with bot like accuracy. Credit to them, ofc, but they were actively hunting me down and it was almost impossible to find a moment to heal, even though I am quite good at makin ppl lose my tracks. This made me think that there has to be something to counter this dynamic a little. Just like you said, while it is not centered towards a simulation, we must aim towards a game where the hunter stays the hunter. In F13 while Jason is indeed undead superhuman immortal &stuff, and we don’t want any of that, the respective roles of the two factions are clear. I am among the few who think that the stats in this game are almost perfect. But the Predator has to be able to “vanish” without much trouble, this easy-cheesy-chasing has to stop. Pred rights movement is rising!

Correct. That’s why you do it it wrong. If someone notice where you landing then you been ‘spot’. You must play stealthy not by press ‘cloak’ but stay out of line of sight.

I actually agree with that change the outline is excessive and I play a lot of FT and think that an icon should be enough because it wouldn’t show the hitbox of the predator as much but still give your team the information they need to focus fire and defend each other also probably a good idea to have a spot cooldown because of how easy to is to spot on PC console players don’t know how easy it is to spot consistently until they have their sensitivity set correctly

That’s very hard to do on PS4 when playing vs PC players with 80% less trees. Remove the low graphics cheating on PC and then spotting is just fine.

So if I’m spot…then I leap behind a building, I hear you can still see my outline through walls.

So when I’m spotted…I need to outlast the spotting (2 secs is it?)…but any further spotting carries on the spot duration, technically indefinitely, is this right?

Example: So spotted with 1 second of highlight left, get spotted again now back up to 2 seconds highlight, spotted again, still on 2 seconds left of highlight on and on?

Even rainbow siege is arcade feeling compared to rougue spear and rainbow 3

How would everyone feel about a 4 or 5 second cooldown between spotting on the FT?

It doesnt add time but you can be ‘spot’ over and over again over 3 sec cooldown per FT member.

A cooldown would be dank if it wasn’t for the fact that half the time the spotting wants to spot everything around predator except predator lol.

I will say I’d be happy if the spot duration was just really short if used on a cloaking predator.

I think the most fair thing is just to make it so it only goes away when pred breaks line of sight with the fireteam. But it cant be used on a fully invis pred.

Because tbh as a pc player I don’t need spotting to follow predators every move after an engagement… But (and not to be rude to ps4 players but) my ps4 teamates often do

Any who has a problem with ‘spot’ is unskilled predators. Easy to detect (those guys who cry). I have no problem with it. ‘spot’ shows me when im was detected and its mean to me for get back in other direction.

It’s not that big of an issue as many people make it out to be lol. Tedious a tad bit? Sure. Game breaking? Not even close.
