Has anyone read this? I have it on order in Australia, but they say it will take until August.
What does it reveal about the story and new potential characters?

Hmm. Interesting, i didnât know theyâd put a book out there for the game. Guess it makes sense since there is no story in this game.

Thereâs a lot of lore in the game atm and reasons as to what the pred and ft are doing in the same place lmso

I donât have the attention span to read books. Never have. Iâve tried but Iâm too much of a visual person. Not to say I never have beacuase Iâve read books for school purposes and did enjoy them. I blame my parents for not being there. Wow that just got real dark didnât it đ

It wasnât bad, it reveals what Dutch has been up to and provides backstory on OLWF and STGZ.
It explains the FTâs as covert counter terrorism units, that part of the story is under developed. It mostly just servers as reason to follow one particular soldier who keeps crossing paths with the Predators and Dutch.
Dutch has some gear not yet in the game, but Iâll leave it as a surprise. The OWLF soldiers also have access to special goggles for seeing Predators while cloaked. It doesnât make them visible, just limits the effectiveness.
STGZ are mostly called MIBâs in the book as the main character doesnât know much about them.
PS. The scout Pred is badass, and the Princess sounds like the ultimate Hunter.

The writing sucks and the book is a chore to read because of it.
If you can deal with undescript settings, an alien pov that doesnât sound alien at all, and a bunch of undeveloped characters that die in poorly described manners youâll like this guys books. His alien one was equally terrible with survivors slinging them around by their tails so im not sure how seriously you can take his canon.
The book is basically just dialogue that moves characters from one generic scene to the next. Just a paycheck.
Also every page is an internal monologue.
Sounds grim. 30 bucks well spent for me then.
Youâve got to be fucking kidding. Humans are swinging Xenomorphs by their tails?! Are they at least augmented in some way? I refuse to believe a random dude picking up something called âa perfect organismâ by its tail and swinging it around.
I did a google to see the weight on those things. What I found is between 136 and 181 kg. No idea how accurate it is but this is definitely plausible for a well build individual and if the circumstances are right.
Really? I thought they were heavier than that. I thought they were around 600-700 lbs.
I canât see any human throwing a xeno which weighs 3-400 lbs without cybernetics or something.
The record for weight lifting (even if its not the same thing) is 500 kg. I donât see why a bulky guy could not SWING 140kg, it would depend on the circumstances since youâre not going to do that if the alien is on your face trying to eat you but swinging that weight is not impossible.
Because it would be disemboweling him? Agreed the weight isnât the issue. Itâs the teeth and claws and not to mention the tail is one of itâs deadliest weapons
Also their blood is acid, so a Xeno with an open wound (even a small one) could make the situation worse.
No idea how its happening in the book but if its dazed? Taken unprepared as it focusing on something else? Like trying to kill another marine? Its probably not a good tactic but if its over your mate ready to eat him⌠Pulling him off by swinging him by its tail perhaps its not such a bad option.

Nope just random survivors wrestling xenos after marines died or ran out of ammo.
Alien powerlevel is all over the place though sometimes they pry open reinforced doors or survive molten lead novelizations they get manhandled though lol.
Well I am guessing its different size one. Some are more powerful then others. I remember in the second movie Vasquez pins an alien with her foot to the wall (she was in the vents) and shoots it up. I guess the lower level drones are not that powerful.
Ok but every single sequence reads like: Internal monologue, Marines enter a new area. Aliens show up. Marines start shooting get one or two bursts off then the aliens are on them. A couple of mercs die while the survivors kicks, shoves or clobbers the xenos out of the way and then either the aliens or mercs retreat. Rinse and repeat. It got ridiculous. The previous novel was better but by a different author. Moore is completely devoid of any kind of atmosphere, he writes dungeon crawls.
Theyâre drones that doesnât mean people can wrestle with things designed for clawing shit to death. They get punched and kicked throughout the book lol. I couldnât even tell you how many mercs/scientists were in the story they were just nameless undescript bodycounts in dark tunnels.
Oh right and the main character has some cheesy psychic connection with the xenomorphs and the aliens know hes Ripleyâs descendant because why not.
This is why iâm extremely apprehensive when people jump to consider novels canon especially if the writerâs just going through the motions for a paycheck.
