STEALTH mechanic suggestion from the game designer

We need to motivate the predator to a stealth game, not rush. We saw the community rage about rush mechanics and it’s not so good. This stealth gameplay will improve the game well and boost the gamer’s loyalty to this product. How to do this:

  1. Boost game timer to 20-25 mins. The first few minutes FT doesn’t know the mission location (no marker), but they can try to find it or wait 3-4 mins to get a location marker. This will allow the predator more time to think about success kills. 15 mins are not enough to play smoothly and stealthy, you always in rush because of the chopper.
  2. The predator needs to know the mission location for the ability to prepare some traps, etc.
  3. Get rid of the fast claims, only the long claims with animation which are very risky.
  4. If FT member picked up from the first drop he automatically gets stealth kill status for 3-5 mins (predator can kill him from behind).
  5. When reinforcements activated all returned members get stealth kill status up to the end of the match.
  6. Reduce predator sounds. Scout class has a need to be absolutely silent when berserk louder.
  7. Get rid of spotting, it breaks the stealth mechanic.
  8. Reduce the predator’s health for balance and motivation not to rush the FT.

As a developer, I know that all these points are not difficult to release. 2-4 weeks maximum. So I hope the community will support this article. LIKE it that ilfonic see this.

Don’t lose the trust of the community, increase loyalty.
Thanks!!

Got some good ideas there. I think predator Health honestly was fine before the patch today 🤷‍♀️

Granted I’ve played only two matches at FT, but the objective was immediately shown in the hud. That said, you can be in place and set up on the FT objective within 45 seconds. Changing the timer to 25 minutes will not stop the game from being over in the first two.

You should arrive at the first objective at the same time as the FT, if you don’t want to engage them immediately start setting your traps for when they leave.

Any reason for this? All it would do is cause preds to melee the player 3-4 times or back off and plasma.

This wouldn’t really change anything with gameplay.

See previous stealth kill comment.

A zerker with impen can be downed by 2 FT members in less than 3 seconds from full health. This is a bad idea.

I’m only level 38 at the moment so I can’t claim to be particularly experienced, but I play almost every match as the Predator (queue times be damned). Personally the biggest issues I have are that the Fireteam can blow through objectives very quickly which encourages the Predator to decisively engage instead of lurking and chipping away, and after the Plasma Caster nerf I find it extremely difficult to deal with teams that actually stick together because all four of them will be up and shooting at me at all times if I get vaguely near them.

Something that forces the Fireteam to spend longer on the map would be ideal, because that way the ‘war of attrition’ that the developers seem to be trying to encourage would be much more viable. That way the Fireteam is much more likely to actually start running out of healing supplies over the course of a match instead of almost always being in tip top shape. That, or re-upping the amount of AI soldiers so that the Fireteam isn’t always focused entirely on the Predator to give him more potential openings for surprise attacks in the short time available to him.

And … how does this solve the problem that people just go back to back and complete the task? Secrecy, secrecy, but there is still nothing to divide. If you nerf the health of a predator, he needs to buff damage, VERY strongly buff.

I just want more info and time. I’d love to set traps near objectives and plan my strategy. As it is now it’s always rushed.

I agree with #1 games are too short typically if fireteam know how to do the objectives.
I think the helicopter show take a bit longer as well but have the enemy that spawn a bit more spaced out so they don’t get over run too quick if having deal with ai and predator.

I disagree with the rest. #2 predator should definitely not know the object at all. #3 as someone stated earlier.

#8 maybe berzerker other preds fine
