Kept getting black screen on boot with epic. I believe I damaged my mobo if I barely bump the rig insta black screen

Can a faulty mobo cause other hardware to fail faster than normal?

If yes how do I test for a faulty board?

No. It’s a bug in the game. Happens to me often. Found a partial fix for it yesterday.

End spacefish.exe from task manager
Quit EpicGames
Under services, look for Epic Online Services and stop the service if is running
Then navigate to this folder

And delete that file EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys

Launch epic and the game again. It should now work.

Now, when knocking the system around, is the black screen due to a complete system failure (You need to restart) or just the game? If is a complete system failure, is unlikely the mobo and probably something else, like a loose or over stressed cable.

When a mobo fails, you usually have failing ports, random crashes (BSOD) or complete system failure (No POST)

Mobos usually last a very long time, specially gaming mobos with solid capacitors.

RAM modules and GPU’s are likely to fail quite more often.

Yes have to force restart.

Stressed sata cables are likely the cause.

I’ll check when I clean it next time around.

I have a regular office job now. M-F 8-5. So, I can only jump in on the weekends or late at night
