I played the demo. It wasnât as interesting as i thought would be to create a character to train and wonder in some open world and do stuff. The issue i found was that it made alternatives to the main character TOO EXTREME. Think about how restrictive you were in SF2! where all the characters were surface level and you got to choose a different colour pallete. This wasnât the case. Too many variations and too difficult to get them maxed out.
Youâre left with TOO MANY PEOPLE making different characters. It SHOULD NOT Be a way to make millions of different Street Fighters. It should keep aligned with a proposed âBAKED INâ approached like creating your own TYPE OF METROID or LINK from Zelda.
To me it suffered a great deal being a 3d entity product.
Should have stayed in that 2d realm of side scrolling action like Final Fight/ even that River City vibe.
2d pixels maybeâŚupping those stakes would have became something original.
The 8bit pixel Revolution is just STARTINGâŚgood god. Nobody has played Little Rocket Lab and actulaly really knows what this product has to offerâŚplease play that game!
It takes 8bit pixel based games like Shredders Revenge and keeps all the things that really makes that game enjoyable. Sure it was restrictive in terms of creative scope, but at least that gave is direction. Limit the creative scope and at least you can garauntee that you follow the path.
MUST POSITIVES:
NEEDS Great music that makes the vibe cozy. NEEDS TO make a great attempt at open world by keeping your attempts at the game work at your own pace type of deal. Not sure if SF6 fits this.
The strict 8bit mentality should still be maintained as a very RESTRICTIVE approach to the identity to the game itself and how you should navigate it. NOT THE everyone shoudl be able to do whatever they want to do. TOO LITTLE BRAIN STORMING on CAPCOM.
Sorry, not sorry. The prescribtion for investing in SF6 is a failure of too many options and too light on direction.
You get plopped into a city landscaper and meant to go âWTFâ on where to go like youâre AVATR FrontiersâŚIts NEVER BEEN a plot about explorationâŚFFS. Its not even a UNIVERSE. Its just a CHARACTER CUSTOMIZER for COSMETICS. It really should stay that way. Make great characters, costomize themâŚend of story.
